They will only tell you if you have Ketone's in your urine. That is indicative of Ketoacidosis. Ketones are a result of breaking down Phospho-lipids. You can have diabetes and not be in Ketoacidosis. I would really recomend seeing a doctor before playing with your diet too much. This is your health we are talking about. That is far more important than looking good on the beach buddy

BTW, Diabete's cannot be diagnosed with 'one' positive test anyhow. But the Oral Glucose Tolerance test is the standard and most telling (and painless if that's a concern).
I, personally, do not have Diabetes. But I have Hypoglycemic and Hyperosmolar-like reactions. Once you get a better understanding of how your own body works, you can perfect your diet (AND feel like a million bucks). I will garruntee that, if you are like I am, you won't respond too well to the diets most people are going to suggest to you on these types of boards.
