I knew this all along.
Don't drink the New Jersey water, that water sucks.

It's tap: Aquafina agrees to spring for truthful label

So you thought the water in your Aquafina bottle came from some far-away spring bubbling deep in a glen?
Try the tap.
The company behind Aquafina, the best-selling bottled water brand, has bowed to pressure to change their labels so consumers know the drink comes from the same source as tap water.
All of PepsiCo Inc.'s water bottles will now be labeled "P.W.S." meaning it comes from a "public water source."
"If this helps clarify the fact that the water originates from public sources, then it's a reasonable thing to do," PepsiCo spokeswoman Michelle Naughton said.
PepsiCo is the latest company to change its labeling after pressure from a group called Corporate Accountability International.
The organization, which campaigns against what it calls misleading marketing practices, says the blue Aquafina label with its mountain logo gives the impression the water comes from a spring.
In reality, Aquafina water is taken from public sources and purified in a seven-step process.
Corporate Accountability International is also calling on the Coca-Cola Co., which owns Dasani water, and Nestle Waters North America, which makes Nestle Pure Life drinking water, to change their labels.
These companies also get some of their water from the tap.
"We don't believe that consumers are confused about the source of Dasani water," Coca-Cola spokeswoman Diana Garza Ciarlante said.
Bottled water sales have risen in recent years as health-conscious consumers turned away from sodas and opted for healthier beverages.
Wholesale sales of bottled water grew to $11 billion in 2006, according to the Beverage Marketing Corp.

That's pretty funny because I always drink tap water and I'm not a huge fan of bottled waters, but I do like Aquafina.

I buy one bottled water, whichever is the cheapest 1.5 liter bottle, each week and fill it up with tap water. Tastes the same, costs me a lot less.

Bottled water is just silly.

You guys are little boys. Real men use a gallon jug and carry it around all day with you. Easy to refill, it's cheap and it makes you look like a tough motherfucker. No wonder why i get so many stares from confused bystanders and frequent questions such as "why do you carry around a jug?".

I ought to videotape myself and walk around the city with a water jug. See how the public reacts.

I like municipalities that outlaw bottled water because of the plastic. I have never bought bottled water and never will. I hate litter, waste, false advertising and... spandex. Yeah, bottled water spandex drinkers are the worst. I hate them.

I always seem to miss their shows.

The only thing I can see why people would buy bottled water is convienience. (sp?)

If I leave my house and I am not thristy, but become thirsty out somewhere, not every place has a fountain. Not to mention, I see people...kids and retards mostly, drinking from the fucking NOZZLE on fountains, possibly spreading germs.

Water usually isnt more expensive than anything and most of the time is free at most places. Chick fil A is a place you have to be careful. They sell both tap and bottled.

I don't like the high mineral content of tap water and the bad taste. I drink purified water that has either been distilled or just purified from the filter I have on my faucet.

Drinking tap water is obviously much better than drinking sodas and juices but I think it's too easy to drink purified water to feel the need to have to choke down tap water.

Honestly I could care less if Aquafina comes from tap, if it's purified it's purified.

Tap water is purified too I believe. In fact, tap water goes through as much filters if not more than bottled water. Think about the consquences if there werent?

Either way, Ill bet now that Aquafina has been on the news, bottled water will now become cleaner, but according to the video, it doesnt get any cleaner.

Several studies have shown that 1/3 of all bottled water has more impurities than tap water.

I refuse to drink the tap water here in AZ. If you tasted how nasty it is you would throw up. It's horrible. You can't drink the tap water here.

I use a water supply company: Bottled Water Service Delivered Today by O Premium Waters

Their water goes through a rigorous filtering process but it does come from public source. It tastes great and I know someone that works there.

When I am in NH though, I drink tap. Artesian well water is the best!

PUR filtration system on my faucet...can't go wrong.

I can agree some States have a lousy filtration system, take New Jersey for instance there water is horrible but go across the bridge to NYC and you have good tasting water.

There was a bottling company that claimed they had their water from some other country and it turned out that they were getting their water straight from Brooklyns faucet.

The city water from Detroit rates amongst of the nations purest. At least they get something right, I just load up a bottle and drink away. If I'm out and want some I'll buy it, but I buy the cheapest stuff.

I always have 1ltr of cold tap water in the fridge, we used to have a water filter jug in the fridge but after a while the water tasted bitter

Yeah most of the water I drink is from my PUR filter on the faucet. Can't say it's got more impurities than tap 'cause it's coming straight from the tap, through the filters, into my glass... or into a jug that I keep in the fridge.

Mixing up my drinks or filling my bottle for the gym comes from the jug in the fridge. I gotta know my water's clean. Bottled water is one thing... I won't fight for them 'cause I could care less. Tap water passes through metal pipes and therefor picks up trace metals such as copper. I don't want all that copper, the RDA is like 2 micrograms or some such extremely low number...

I think they found that desani (coca cola's water, however you spell it) was withdrawn from sale in the United Kingdom as it had over the legal ammount of bromide in it, which if drank in excess could make men sterile.

I live out in the middle of nowhere. I have a well and when I come to town I can't stand the tap water. It just makes me want to drink more and more and more. The only time I drink it is in the gym and I usually end up drinking about 2 pounds of water during a workout. I never have like aquafina. It taste like crap to me and now I know why.

Bromide leads to sterility?

In large doses, bromide helps stop men getting erections.

Dont PUR filters cost a lot of money?

60 bucks...filters cost 7-8 dollars. Have to change the filter every 4-5 months usually. Great for college students renting a house (in my case).

The water here in Hawaii is the best I've ever had straight from the tap. And of course it's very pure since we don't have smog nor much pollution and the water is filtered through layers and layers of soil and volcanic rock from the mountains down....also in Kona a company uses pumped ocean water from 3000 feet deep which they claim is far below the reach of pollutants and is also very old.

"According to global density-driven circulation studies, it can take between 1,200 and 2,000 years for movement of the deep water masses to complete their cycle from the equatorial Atlantic Ocean, cooling and eventually sinking at high latitudes in the North Atlantic, then flowing down into deep water basins and resurfacing in the northeast Pacific Ocean. This path of the deep sea water???s currents is often referred to as the ???global conveyor belt.??? "

They then run it through a desalination process and filtration, but it's not chlorinated.

There is also the Air2Water machine which pulls water vapor in the air and makes it into pure drinking water. They have water cooler sizes and a coffee machine size....
