Just put together my first 4 way neck machine. I don't have tons of room left in the garage but, I had to have one. I like the look and feel of a strong neck, and all of my lifts went up 15-40 pounds (depending which of course) when it was trained. Why? The body can sense weakness, and will withhold your abilities to avoid injury, if you have a weak spot.
These are really hard for me to find in the gyms in my area, I saw one years ago at a World Gym that changed names and sold itself several times until it went under, and I hated the one they had. The only other one I've seen in the bay area seriously, is in a 24 Hour Fitness (only one I've seen in any of the dozen I've been too), made by Nautilus and its AWESOME. The leverage feels great and the padding is perfection, but they are hard to find and cost $600-$1000 used.
I was able to get mine for about $330 shipped on a holiday special, so while mine isn't perfect I'm really stoked to have one so I don't have to make special trips to one gym that sucks in every way except for having a good 4 way neck machine. Pretty stoked!
