just wanting a few questions answerd

ok, first of all hey :D and now to the questions :mooh:

1) howmany tablespoons of olive oil is too much aday?

2) is a whey shake before bed a bad choice? the shake would include- 1 scoop whey, 1/2 cup 2% Milk, and 1/4 cup of oats.

3) will you answer questions 1 & 2? :D

1. Depends on your diet and macros that you have set for yourself. I think 1 T. is good per day.

2. Yes it is. It's a very fast digesting protein. Also, I prefer to stay away from carbs at bedtime. Something like casein protein shake and healthy fats such as fish oil or PB before bed is best. If you can't get casein then eat red meat before bed.

3. Just did :)

That's a perfect bedtime meal.

What other fats are you eating? You should be having n3's as well such as fish oil and flax.

1) Hard to say without knowing your diet plan. No need to go crazy...use olive oil along with other fats to get to where you need to be in your daily caloric intake and fat intake.

2)
-Whey is not the best choice of protein before bed because it's fast absorbing. It's not going to hurt anything, but other choices are better:

-Milk is good because it has casein, which will digest slowly as a curd in your stomach while you sleep. I'd encourage mixing it with a healthy fat source or another protein source though, because milk on its own causes a very high insulin release, which you don't really need before bed.
-Cottage cheese or plain yogurt are some other good high-casein choices.
-I would cut the oats even though they are low GI because you generally don't need carbs of any sort before bed. Instead do something like peanut butter, this might also help counter the high-insulin release effects of plain dairy (just a thought, I've never seen this tested though.)

You need to add more n3's. I would add some ground flax seeds or at the least flax oil into your diet. Also, your fish caps 6-8 per day.

Jodi;

What would you say for my bed time meal:
1 Turkey sandwich with dry curd fat free cottage cheese...
1t.sflax seed oid.

After reading this thread I'm thinking of adding Fish Oil & Olive oil or something.

I just got some uncle sam's cereal the other day and it has flax seeds in it. The macros look great too. I thought about throwing a bowl into my diet somewhere.

Skip the bread and turkey and have just the cottage cheese and healthy fats.
