ok i am going to try and get a thread going here on the lba's. alright here we go lba's are amino acids. your body can break the protien down, and use it much quicker than what you can get from whey. the benefits to aminos are many. most n0 products utilize amino acids to increase pump, and protien uptake by the body. so using aminos as a primary protien source is a great way to build, and lean. if i remember correctly a serving of aminos has like five grams of protien, wich equals i believe ten grams of whey. since your body uses the aminos so quickly you dont get the bloat, gas, and other nasty things like you get from whey based protiens. nice thing in my expierience with the aminos i can keep my protien intake very high, and i am still able to lean out. very nice, and complete protien. hope that helps at least a little bit. i am not an expert on the lba's at all. if you have any questions go ahead, and ask i will do my best to answer them.:D

A company named EFX offers them....I'm not sure if any of the reps here carry LBA's...didn't want to step on anybody's toes.

I've never used lba's, but I'm curious about their effectivenesss.

best price i have found is through phil hernon on professionalmuscle.com shoot him a pm. he knows so freaking much more about them than i do. there are alot of guys over there that have switched over as well. one thing i have noticed with the lba's is an increase in appetite. wich for me really is not a bad thing. like with the rtd's i used to drink i felt like really full for a good while. had the same problem with other whey based products. with the lbas i drink three or four a day. i use 3-4 tablespoons then mix them with water. well unless i am in a hurry i have just dumped em on a spoon and go lol. great for pre and post work out. usualy before i lift i will down a lba, and eat a apple. apple for some quick carbs to give the extra fuel. the lba's dont weigh me down. some pre workout stuff i have used made me feel a little sluggish due to being a bit to full. thanks for posting that info mr. damayor.

So far I have read mixed reviews. Many talk about LBA's as if they were a miracle supp., yet some guys in Lyle McDonald's camp basically say that whey is still better. (I'll pot their findings if I can find the site)

Seems to me like LBA's are a little pricey, but more convenient than whey.

Where are our Mod Brainiacs on this one?

price is a little higher yes. i will agree with that but the results are well worth it. lba's are great for building and leaning. since the protien is so quickly absorbed into your body, makes life much easier. also with whey you dont really know how much your body is breaking down at once. you may just have some sitting in your stomach. with the lba's that is not a problem.

great example i started working legs again. over a month ago been on the lba's and nothing else right now. my starting squat was a little over two hundred ya i know i am a girl. now i am squatting 325 9 reps. still not a great amount of weight but ya know. either way my strength has gone up very nicely, and i am not on any aas, or pros. just a hell of a training plan, and the lba's. will be starting a pro hormone run here this week but that is kind of irrelavent to this topic lol.

I'd say this has more to do with the strength gains bro.

i dunno either way i am loving the lba's. guess the best way to put it is just try em you will love em. i asked alot of questions before i tried em. final answer i got was just try em out you will love em. i do love em lol.

Hmmmm. I guess you're the only one taking LBA's, tomuch.

I suppose it is just one of those matters of preference.

i dunno bro, i wish more people would try em. i am having the best results i have ever had. maybe a matter of prefrence but i freaking love. hell i also encourage other people to take em. the price really isnt that bad. a case lasts alot longer than what you think. a bottle lasts me bout seven days give or take a day. so one case wich is sixteen bottles lasts well over a couple months. really depends on your protien intake requirments i guess. so under that scale it is cheaper than whey, and i see it as much more effective.

you should bro i really think you would like em. honestly what do you have to lose other than some body fat lol.

sorry that was not a shot. i was trieng to state how great the lba's are for leaning as well.

ya but you do longer bulks dont ya? i have done the longer bulking sessions and let the waistline go. hell you have seen my myspace page. the mud fight i got the brilliant idea to i should bulk in the summer. not a clean bulk to say the least lol. to many damn bbqs. once i finish leaning though i plan to just stay lean year round. so freaking much easier.

Longer bulk my ass.... I'm just frikkin lazy!
Nah, I started 'cutting' about 2 weeks ago...well, half assed started anyway.
The way it's been going, I eat great during the week, but then the weekend rolls around and I'm either at graduation parties, birthday parties, bbq's, pool parties, bullshit county fairs... pretty much anything you can think of with tasty, unhealthy food, and my wife manages to get me there.
I've been back on track for a couple days now... and as far as I know, there's no special activity planned for this weekend, so it should be a simple to keep it rolling now. :thumb:

that shit is the worst dude. especialy if the party has not healthy alternatives. grab ya a mini cooler and eat on the way. that has worked for me a time or two. then when i get there i just find the usual veggie tray lol. tell every one i am just not to hungry to hot or some thing lol.

So if whey protein has 5 grams of protein per 10 grams of powder what is the other 5 grams?

Anyway, I just want to mention that some amino acids are dangerous when consumed alone in large quantitites and it's safer (and just fine IMO) to consume complete and balanced proteins in order to reach your amino acid intake goals.

sorry i was refering to the lba's themselves. 5 grams of lba protien equals like ten of whey. also the lbas are a complete and balanced protien. you can consume large amounts of aminos with out any real problems. look at igf-1 wich is a branch of 86 aminos. well typicaly 86 any way.

How does 5 grams of iba's equal 10 grams of whey protein?

Anyway, whey protein is a complete and balanced protein. Besides that, the benchmark by which all protein quality, balance and bioavailability is egg white protein which has a BV of 100%, and the highest nitrogen retention score known to man.

You just can't beat it as a protein source. Unless of course you are talking about megadoses of amino acids.

Megadoses of specific amino acids can have effects not related to their value as a protein source.

Which would be the only legitimate scientific basis for a claim that a prtoein product is a better (or more balanced) protein source.

So, if that's the theory behind IBA (which cannot possibly have a greater BV than 100%) then I just want to restate that megadoses of some amino acids are potentially dangerous.

i dont know the science behind the lba's and i wont pretend i do. i know they have been working great for me. that is why i said to talk to phil hernon. he knows alot more about them than i do. i am not the right person to debate this with. i posted a link leading to were you could debate the lbas all day long. my point is simply this they work great for me. i think you should give em a try.:D:p

I can respect that.

If I were you and didn't want to answer questions I would not say things like 5 grams of iba's equal 10 grams of whey protein because that is silly, and people will want to know what you are even talking about.

It's not that I want to argue with you, I just think it's irresposible to say things like that when you don't know the science behind what you are promoting.

i addressed that earlier in the thread. i also posted a link that did explain that in detail. i am not promoting any thing. in another thread damayor asked me to start a thread about lba's. i said from the start i would answer questions as best as i can. look at the nutrition label on the bottle i was trieng to give the comparison that was given to me by some one else. what you are doing is arguing, i tried to gracefuly step out. i told you to talk to phil or read the link. head over to the site i posted if you would like to dispute any thing about the lba's.
