Howdy,

Ive just put my homegym together with the following items,

Bodycraft PowerCage
430.jpg

Techogym Adjustable Bench
detail_bench_4_z.jpg

7 Foot Olympic Bar with 2x (5kg/10kg/20kg)
EzyBar & Dumbells

From this I will be able to do a number of exercises, however I cannot do leg curls or leg extensions, Are they really required? I am doing squats, which I love! and I hit the calves as well.

Any comments welcome...

Cheers

Nick

I hardly ever do leg curls/ext. Just do squats and SLDLs, close chain is better than open chain for your knee anyway.

What P-funk said! Leg extensions are actually very hard on the knees. Physical therapists are finally catching on to this and getting rid of the machines. They were a staple for years.

Thanks for the comments!

yeah i have recently found out that doing extensions and curls were pointless exercises for me, i stick with lunges, dl's squats, leg press, and step ups

leg curls should definetly be including in hamstring training. you can focus entirely on the eccentric portion of the movement...

I suggesting incorporating some Romanian Deadlifts (aka Stiff Leg Deadlifts), too.

I should include in my comments that I am speaking stricly from a functional standpoint. there is benefit in using them for hypertrophy reasons.

Romanians bend the knee, SLDL do not require it by the name.

SLDL and Romanian Deadlifts are not the same exercise...
