just wondering.. leg extensions are they essential?? i mean if you do squats and leg presses should that cover enough, or should there be leg extenstions in there.. i just did em yesturday for first time in a long while and they hurt like a biatch but then again i did alot yesturday on legs i did 16 reps and almost max weight about 20 lbs less than max ... my legs were shaking on the 8th set... it was wild

Those are some crazy rep and set numbers. Maybe the reason they hurt like a bitch is because you are DOING TOO FRICKIN' MUCH!

:finger:

umm i wanted to do that.. havne't overworked them in awhile.. miss the sworness hehe

I've always felt that extensions are best for defining the legs rather than adding mass.

I agree in part with the previous post that leg extensions are great for developing separation. However, they are also great for bringing out areas in the quads that may need to be improved.

Squats are king for overall mass, but if you are lacking in a certain area, i.e. medialis, you can perform the extensions with the toes pointed out. Try that next time and you can feel what I am talking about.

Also, by isolating muscle groups, you can minimize the chance of injury and maximize effort.

hope this helps
