People of any faith are still open minded Prince. There are just some things where there is no room to be wishy washy. People like that are flaky in most of their beliefs. What a confusing existance... not standing firm im much of anything. I'm not speaking of everyone, but most people want some sort of answers out of life, but they only want the answers that already fit into their thinking. That's ignorant. I am far from a religious person, but I do stand firm in my faith. There is a big difference. ANd when it gets attacked, and I stand up for my beliefs, in return am called intolerant and closeminded. Oh the irony...lol

I have to assume that you're implying my thinking and/or beliefs are wishy washy, they're not, I have very concrete beliefs, they just do not incluide any religeon.

Dogma according to you. But remember, you yourself said you do not have any answers. So that is just your opinion.

Finally, a legit deadlock. Your religion(science) contradicts mine. Dead end there. But you may want to go back in historty a little bit. A great many of the scientist whose findings are still scientific law today, were men of great faith...IN GOD. Science can no more disprove God, than faith can disprove science. Then again, that is why it is called faith. Science has done very little to recreate anything enough to disprove anything anyway when it comes to this subject.

It is not that I know exactly what happends when we die, but I would rather believe my way and be wrong, than to believe your way and be wrong. My choice, just like you've made your choice.

As heated as these discussions get, more often than not they end up going nowhere. But at the same time, they can be somewhat entertaining. lol I think the key to keeping these threads open, is that we all realize that we all have different views on this topic probably more than any other, but can discuss and question the difference of those views. It is when we become disrespectful and spiteful that our pathetic true selves come out. When we intentionally go out of our ways to be disrespectful. There have been a few posts by others in this thread that were simply worthless, of no value, and made the posters look like ignorant bafoons regardless of where they stood on the issue. Not talking about folks with opposing views, but rather those lacking in education enough to articulate them. Even with our differences Prince, it's been a fun spar.

No offense taken B/O. I know my statements were pretty much just blutted out with nothing to back them but that is how I felt that night. I do know that very early on, the Catholic Church basically ran the land. They made the laws and the politicians and government enforced them or made them legal doctrine. The rules of the Church were drastically different then they are now and much more strict. Politicians were controlled out of fear of being excommunicated. And in those days it was worse then being found guilty in the McCarthy Trials (Communist black list).
Oh and the purpose of all this dribble was to point out that many religious laws had to deal with money and taxes etc and nothing to do with God or Religion. The end
