i dont like to last time i did this and went back to pin my gear the fucking syringe was half way pressed and lost about 10$ worth of gear.

If you buy your syringe and needle separate the syringe should have a little cap on it. I don't do this but if I was going to I would fill the syringe, remove the needle, cap the syringe and use a new sterile needle to inject. I don't like the idea of putting the needle in the gear and then letting it sit out in the open air. Not sterile.
