Hey, I have a question.. what causes low body temp?

I woke up yesterday with an insane migrane, and was sweating. Well, I assumed that I had a fever, so I had my mom get the thermometer for my temp. We took it twice, and both times it was under 93*F... I had never felt so shitty in my life.

that IS low.

... Low body temp is one of the classic signs of hypothyroidism. ... Low body temp with NORMAL
thyroid test results could also mean Adrenal gland fatigue. ...

Well, my temp today was 99.3*F. I dont think its a thyroid issue, unless it fluctuates a bunch? Thanks Spike.

spike, how does one find out if they have adrenal gland fatigue?

flucutation in body temperature from one extreme to next is adrenals fatigue. Have you been under distress, dieting, under eating or over tranining, use Caffine, ephederine. This are the factors you need to concider, but 100% adrenal fatique or over tranining. depending what stage you are in. If you need to know anything about low temp just ask me I have been through the ringer. and hopefully can provide you valuable informatioin to prevent you from progressing to the next stage

Thanks HAN. Yea, I have been through the loop with stress lately. Also just got back to training(3 day upper/lower split). So I dont think I am overtrained.

I guess I need to relax a bit huh?

most likely cortisol levels are elevated frome stress. So cutting back on training would be the best move. May removing or lower the stress causing variable would also be a great help. For stres and anxiety I have used the below

will significantly lower cortisols levels or keep them in ck

Theanine 200 mgs every 4-5 hours
relora 300 mgs x 3 times a day
Phosphodytl serasine 100-200 mgs 3 times a day
100 mgs b complex each meal

if you are depressed st johns wort 300 mgs x 3 times a day

Hope this helps

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Thanks HAN. Do I pick my poison, or use all of the above? I am also taking next week off of work, to go hunting. So no training. I am sure that will help.

24 hour cortisol test by salvia, blood test is not going to show it..

Viv I suggested you get that done ages ago other wise you it could really impact you in the future.

This is what I suggest to people
1. hair anaylsis - find out minerals you are lackng and correct the deficiency
without minerals all vitamins in the world is not going to help
2. 24 hour cortisol Salvia test. Blood test show only space and time not the full picture. Symptoms of elevated and low cortisol are almost identical. Cortisol should be higher in the morning and taper off as day goes one.

simple test for thyroid dysfunction
1. take temperature for 5 morning consecutive if temperature is below average 97.8-98.2 then you may have thyroid problem. If that temperature goes from say 93.4 to 99 during the day it would be probably your adrenals. If the temperature stays steady then its probably thyroid

2 paint a iodine patch on skin and see if it stays there for 24 hours. If it disappears with in that time frame you are most likely iodine deficient.

3. Ck ph levels for alkalinity. If your ph in salivia is below 6.0 you will not be able to absorb alot of minerals and this can impact the whole body. I was at 5.0 for longest time becuase of high protein diet wth acidic foods. Americans diet are horrible and average a 5-5.5 when it needs to be 7.0 or slighly higher. Acidity is the cause of several diseases , even obesity. Fat people tend to be more acidity and there for more toxic

relora and theanine seem to be the best combination for a nice chilling out with out making your mind numb, actually it makes your mind more relaxed and can actually concentrate and focus better and doesn;t affect energy levels like other herbs (kava kava, valerian, ect..

It may be a silly question, but did you drink cold water, juice or milk before you took your temperature ?

I did once and had the same result. It freaked me out so I retook it again, but by then my mouth had warmed up and it read normal.

Nope. Woke up sick as shit, and took my temp. I took it twice, then had my mom take hers, to see if the thermometer was broken, it wasnt.

Thanks HAN.

If i were you I wouild up magnesium and drop calcium back to 1/2 of that of mg.

For stress related issues magnesium is crucial and I believe this was the main minerals I wiped out while dieting and using caffine. Mg is also crucial in maintaining proper cortisol balance when under stress phyiscally and mentally. There was also a great study done by a regular high school on ZMA pre and post season and had suprising data. When stressed mg and zinc work hand in hand so my suggestion to you is up keep calcium about 500 and up mg to 1000-1200 for a while. Don;t count mg in calcium supplments because mg is need to aid in absorption of Ca, but not other way around. Mg should be taking in the form of citrate powder and besure to take away from food and also in very small dosages no more then 200-300 at a time or you will end up on the shitter. When taking mg add in 10 mgs of b-6 to aid in absorption as well. I hope this helps. ZMA supplement may not be bad before bed time and count that in your mg total. Also from research I did, I also found out low mg is associated with lower body temperature as well.

Magnesium is considered to be the anti-stress mineral and works synergistically with calcium, it also builds bones and teeth. Some of the other functions of magnesium are: *

regulates body temperature

breaks down fats

synthesizes proteins

helps to prevent the absorption of high levels

of aluminum in the brain

stimulates muscles to loosen and relax

required for energy metabolism

needed for muscle relaxation and calm nerves

regulates the amount of calcium that enters the cells

leads to osteoporosis, kidney stones, & hardening of the arteries if there are low levels in the body.

maintains cortisol balance

My temp. has always been less than 98.6 ....

Its usually about 97.1 or so, but i dont think thats unusual?

Thanks again HAN. I will buy some of this today.

better nip this in the ass now before it starts to take over right under neath your nose and causes major damage.

This article is vital to people who work out and to prevent what happened to me and 2 other people on here !!

http://vitaminlady.com/Articles/Adrenalstress.asp

I was never in to drugs so i look to the alternative method which I beleive is a majority of mineral and vitamin defeciency.

I have made major progression from following protocol can be used for low or high cortisol levels

This should cover your basis for stress and adrenal support
100 mgs b complex every meal
multi mineral and vitamin capsule 2 times a day
1000 mgs calcium
1000 ,mgs calcium citrate working up slowly to bowel tolerance, better off with no more then 300 mgs at a time rather then large dosages. Do not take with calcium becuase calicum is not needed for mg absorption, but mg is need for calcum absorption
ester C to bowel tolerance then reduce to 70% of that dosage -some time up to 10-15 grams a day in several divde dosages depending on how drained you are
b-5 (panthenic acid) coe enzyme A 250-500 mgs 3 times a day
b-6 50 mgs with each magnesium citrate enhances absorption
zinc no more then 100 mgs daily

if salvia test show low levels :
If you get really bad and up with low cortisol levels then adrenal glandulars, licorace root, ginsing would be highly recommended.

High cortisol levels
3 times a day
relora 300 mgs
200 mgs theanine
100-200 mgs phosphodytl serosine

Diet
cut all refined products ESPECIALLY DEXTROSE, and reduce carbs slightly, cut artifical sweetners, may be even cut gluten for 2-3 weeks just incase you develop an allergic reaction due to stress levels, keep fruits to a minum may be once a day in the morning.

Hope this helps

as for body temperature it varies from each person. Optimal is 98.6 over the average of the day. 97.8-98.2 in the morning. If you have low temperature you may want to start addressing adrenals and I have a good idea that it will begin to rise. Another experiment you can do is to start adding in some dulse to your meals each day and monitor if your temperature rises over the following weeks.

Try taking the rectal temperature next time. It can be a few degrees off the oral reading. :booty: The rectum never lies.

low body temperature may be an indication of infection or related to stress. May want to look into good probiotic to protect your self from bacteria overgrowth which can creep up on you when you least except it.
