Ive just bought a tub of the stuff. i wanted dextrose but that was all they had..

im wanting it to help get more carbs in my diet sinse i started tracking macros i quickly become aware my carb intake was minimal...

I am getting most of my carbs from whole foods i was just wondering what you guys thought of maltodextrin iv started using it post workout to replenish gylcogen stores and having 50gram of it in my morning shake aswell..

iv read somewere taking it any other time then pwo is like basically feeding your body pure sugar is this true?

does maltodextrin have a place in bodybuilding..

should i just keep using this till i get some dextrose?

i thought i had just purchased a good carb supp now after reading on internet im confused..

can some one help me out cheers?
 
Malto is basically a cheaper fast acting carb, it's not bad if used correctly. I would use it pre,intra and post workout if you really trying to bump carbs. 100g 1 hour prior to workout, sip 50g wit some aminos and creatine etc intra, and 100g after workout wit some hydrowhey or whey isolate. IMO don't think it should be used any other time
 
Dextrose is a simple carb with close to 100% of it's calories coming from sugar. Maltodextrin is a complex carb with approx. 50% of it's calories coming from sugar. Dextrose is an extremely fast acting carb., malto is a little slower. These work well in combination, if I had to choose one, I'd pick the maltodextrin, lower sweetness and sugar.

thanks for the advise brother yes amazing what ive learned about my diet by tracking macros wish i done it when i started out feel like im making progress every day now and can sleep a little better knowing ive gave my body the right nutrients and cals to make it grow.. not just having a stab in the dark..

exited to see what it does to my body with say a good 6 months strict consitent dieting under my belt..

when u say sip it intra with some aminos what u meen, iv used bcaa's once before but they were in pill form? u mean break the capsules up and mix them in or something.. forgive my lack of knowldge..

my drink includes:
50g karbolyn
30g hydrowhey
2 scoop extend aminos
10g creatine

not saying do this drink, just giving you an idea. you can buy a little tub of amino acids for like 20=30 bucks. put two scoops on wit your malto
