MANNY'S REVENGE: EYES BX.

ANAHEIM, Calif. - Having successfully orchestrated his divorce from Boston and his landing in with the Dodgers, Manny Ramirez would like to make life miserable for the Red Sox during the next few seasons.
According to people who have spoken to the eccentric outfielder since he was dealt to L.A. on July 31, Ramirez wants to sign a free-agent deal with the YankeesNew York Yankees

this offseason and get 19 chances a year to punish Boston.
"He wants to play for the Yankees so he can get at the Red Sox," a close friend of Ramirez's told The Post.
Of course, every free agent says he wants to play for the Yankees. They pay well, will always have a chance to make the postseason, and when they show an interest in a free agent, the price from other clubs skyrockets.
Considering Ramirez is represented by Scott Boras, every imaginable angle will be played when the 36-year-old, a product of George Washington High School in Washington Heights, will become a free agent following the World Series.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman would not comment on the situation. Ramirez forced the Red Sox to deal him to the Dodgers by badmouthing the organization, not hustling and sitting out a July 25 game against the Yankees with a knee injury that didn't show up on an MRI the next day.
Once Ramirez was dealt, two club options for $20 million (2009-10) were eliminated.
Ramirez, the premier run producer of his generation and a Hall of Fame lock, has hit four homers in his first six games for the Dodgers, giving him 514 for his career.

i saw that coming years ago. even when he played in cleveland, i always said that he would be a yankee at some point.

manny is a moron though.

Didn't Manny just RECENTLY say that he loved LA and wanted to finish his career in Dodger Blue?

Or better yet, didn't he say he wanted to finish his career in Boston last year?

If this report is true and Manny does end up going to the Yankees, he will ruin his reputation and respect from Boston fans. The same thing happened to Clemens so Manny needs to be careful what he wishes for.

Why would you lose respect for Clemens, he was practically kicked out of Boston and he was with the Jays for the longest.

Player loyalty doesn't exist anymore like when Jackie Robinson retired rather than play for the rival Giants.

ESPN.com: Page 2 : Is Clemens the Antichrist?

Read this article. You need to know the real story behind that to understand and that article explains it all.

you really think manny gives a damn what the boston fans think???:roflmao:

and why do the boston fans respect manny as it is??? how could a fan respect a player who purposefully put little effort into helping the team to force his way out? If boston is your team, respect for manny should not even be thought of.

the only time a fan should respect manny is when he is on their team and shows up to play that day. not the day before or the day after. the guy is a mercenary.

He's stated on numerous occasions that he loves the Boston fans, but dislikes the organization. I doubt he cares what anyone in Boston thinks now that he's gone, although Boston does probably have at least a small place in his heart.

Because he helped the Red Sox end their horrible slump of years without a championship and also helped them win another 3 years later.

then quit on the team.

if he said anything about the boston fans it was lip service.

then quit on the team.

After the fact.
No one knows but Manny and Red Sox what went on behind close doors. There may be good reason for him being a dick about the whole situation, there may not. No matter what, he was a big part of two championships in Boston that most fans won't forget.

From July 7th to July 28th, he got hits in 13/14 games with multi hit games in 8 of those games also 4 HR's & 15 RBI's. His "quitting" on the team could've been worse.

On point.
It was always Manny just being Manny.
He could hit the hell out of the ball but there were times he used to dog it.

There was an article about how he was wasn't giving 100% in order to get out of Boston.

so as a boston fan you are defending the player who forced his way out of playing for the team you root for?

LMFAO..u really think Manny gives a fuck what you Boston fans think of him? :funny:

Manny will sign with whoever gives him the most money.

At 3 years, 15+ million per, I almost hope its the Yankees.

I'm defending the supposed "quitting" on the team. He put up Manny like numbers in the games leading up to his departure.

As I said before, none of us know the actual circumstances behind him wanting to leave. As we saw with Schilling, the Red Sox of late have been pretty loyal when it comes to signing older players who have aided in the team's success. I can't fathom it being strictly economical. He wanted out for some reason. We don't know the whole story so I can't give my ultimate take on it yet. I don't like how it happened, but I can't place all the blame on Manny. He demanded a trade. Great, at least he did it while the Sox were still in the playoff race and didn't refuse to play after the trade deadline and fuck us over completely.

So what the Yankees will sign: Ramierez, Texiara, and Sabathia next year? :D

Manny will sign with whoever gives him the most money.

BINGO!

Manny wants to play for the Yankees because the Yankees have the deepest pockets. Manny has made it perfectly clear that his only concern is getting the largest contract he can. I'm ok with that, but don't think he has any other motive for wanting to sign with NYY.

That's ridiculous

1. He played for George Washington HS in Washington Heights which is close to the Bronx so i am sure he has had dreams of playing for the Yankees

2. There is no doubt in my mind he would love to play for the Yanks just to get back at the Redsox management and stick it in their rear ends very much like Clemens did with the Blue Jays and Yanks

3. He stated in an article a few weeks ago that "money has no price" on his future whereabouts when he was causing a soap opera in Boston. He was only concerned with "mental peace" and i know this is a load of bull but to think he only wants to play for the Yankees because of money is absurd. The Mets and Angels have the money to pay him a big contract as well.

I loved Manny and thank him for all his years in Boston and helping us win 2 World Series Championships but my feelings for a player can change in an instant. For example, I loved Johnny Damon was he was with the Sox but once he went to the Yankees, i despised him and booed as loudly as i could when he came to Fenway. I will do the same to Manny if he were to sign with the Yankees, simple as that.

Not really.

Then why didn't he just sign with the Yankees?

I don't think he cares at all, he has the attention span of a 5 year old, your not dealing with a rocket scientist.

He'll go to the fool giving him the most money and incentives.

Johnny hasn't been all that here, he's been so-so and hurt most of the time.

Throughout all of Damon's last season, his true colors began to come out. While I'll always appreciate what he did in 2004, the fact of the matter is the guy is an idiot.

Just like Pedro, these guys think they're bigger than the team and they just simply aren't.

Boras tried to explain that Damon took less money to go to the Yankees but he has since been proven to have lied about this other "mystery" team.

Basically put, if the Red Sox ran there team like the Yankees, Pedro/Damon/Ramirez would all be back for expensive and long deals which in all of these cases, the Red Sox have made the right decisions.

Boras is bad for baseball. Anyone who believes him is a fool.

Historically the Yankees cut their players once their production tails off.
There have been a few contracts that Cashman has vetoed due to the extra years the players want.
Now signing old players is another story.

I will say that there is no loyalty with Boston management.
Oldtimers game at Yankee stadium is special, you have all of these old players coming back saying how they love being a Yankee even when some have been through hell here. Winfield....Jackson.

Some Boston/ Yankee players prefer wearing a Yankee hate to the hall of fame.

The poor decisions the Yanks made were in getting players like Brown, Parvano...
That kid GM in Boston has been the difference.

Because they expressed no interest in him. How can you sign with a team that doesn't contact him and his agent?
So his agent didn't try to seek out a deal?....OK.

I never once heard him say he wanted to play for the Yankees when he was at the end of his Cleveland contract, in Boston he said it just to be an ass.
