Any one have a microdiscectomy? I need one on my L5 S1 and wondering the recovery time to get back in the gym? Also is it very painful

Never had a microdiscectomy but I have had a kyphoplasty and that healed in a few weeks really. It was for T12 and L1... little skydiving mishap
