I believe I read that the leaner you are the more muscle you can put on. Now it's late and I'm tired so excuse me if I'm remembering this incorrectly but if so why is this the case?

Science behind it?

:nerd:

being leaner gives you a better hormone profile if im not mistaken..(i could be)

but gaining mass is all about eating a surplus of calories.

More muscle=More muscle. GICH.

if your really lean (<7%) wouldn't your body prioritize gaining fat ahead of muscle? to return to a healthier bf level.

I think what you are referring to is it's suggested that a person be more lean before they start a cycle.
For the obvious reasons that you would have less possible side effects IF a person was leaner.
Having more bf% before a cycle could lead to a higher possibility og gyno symptoms.
As for gaining more muscle if you'r lean I dont think thats quite the case.

you need more weight to pack on more muscle.

To get really big as a natty you have to be fat too (or just finished precontest dieting or something of the like), your body does not want all that expensive muscle tissue hanging around without plenty of fat reserves to fuel it in case of a food shortage. Once upon a time we were all genetically hulking neanderthals, famines came and only us puny weaklings could scrounge enough calories to survive. So modern humans are generally built to be lighter and use a minimal amount of food to accomplish what we need to (which is not really lifting weights).

This all goes out the window when you start artificially altering your body's chemistry obviously
