Anyone here ride? I just bought an 05 sportster 1200. This will be first road bike but I've had dirt bikes and enduros most of my life. I think breaking and getting used to a 550 lb machine will be my biggest challenge.

I have been riding crotch rockets since i was 16. Never got into riding Harley's. nothing more fun than taking a few hour afternoon cruise in the country to let off some steam.

I looked at crotch rockets and I just don't fit. Im 6-4 250. I look like a monkey trying to hump a football. I fit very comfortably on the sportster.

i ride a sportster. you get it all. the bike is light enough to just let it go in the curves but also comfortable enough that after a long ride your not looking for a back specialist. enjoy

I ride a busa and have a bunch of friends who are as big as you who ride them as well. It is a lot bigger than most crotch rockets. I am only 5'10" at 160 so I guess I look like a little jockie on the back of a race horse. :)

6'4 and 250lbs and your comfortable on a sportster?...Thats unusual most big guys arent comfortable on them they are small bikes, and most guys usually will want a bigger bike after riding a sportster for a while...But they are great bikes, i love the look of the Nightster 1200...I own a 2007 Harley Night train with alot of modifications, im a biker and love to ride...Enjoy your bike bro.

^ What he said. I'm 6'1", 250 lbs and am REALLY uncomfortable on a Sportster after about 10 minutes. The upside is that they're very nimble bikes so if this is your first street bike it'll be great to learn on and, if need be, pass your riders test. But I'd strongly advise you start saving your pennies now because I'm guess you'll want to upgrade to a big twin in the very near future.

I don't think you'll have any problem adapting to the weight. The Sportster is a good bike. If I had one the only modification I'd make would be a larger gas tank.

Nice looking bike, man!
