What do you guys use? I am starting out my new workout in a week and am gonna buy some multi vitamins to take with Protein. Just seeing what are good brands and what not to buy? thanks

i use equate men's health (available at wal-mart). maybe this is due to my inexperience with multivitamins, but i dont see the point of paying three times as much for something else when they have the same stuff. whats more important is the stuff on the back of the bottle.

Yeah, I agree. But why are you taking it with protein? Do you mean post-workout? You want to take it with a meal with some fat in it because some vitamins need fat for the body to best absorb them.

I use GNC Mega Men, but if you check them out, most are comparable.

If I remeber to take them (which is like 1-2 times a week ). I take my men's one a day (but they are pretty shitty as far as vitamins are concerned).

Natures Plus Sources of life w/o Iron for men or if you are female, with iron.

Optimum Nutrition's Opti-Men.

I followed Jodi's comments a while back and take a multi-with minerals with breakfast, and then at night I take a mineral only. I sweat a lot and drink a lot of water.

I am taking Kirkland and Twin Lab right now.

Like P-funk, I don't like the "one-a-day" brand, either.

I also look for the two types of stamps on the vitamin that shows there are random tests done on them to ensure the levels of nutrients they claim are in the vitamin, are actually in it.

I've been taking Kirklands high energy vitamins & minerals (not a bad mix) and pretty cheap at Costco. Then thanks to Jodi's helpful advice, I am now on the fish pills taking as many as I can stomach in a day (1 after each meal). Then at night I complete my arsenal with saw palmetto and 4 huge ZMA pills. I take the calcium out of my vitamin pack since ZMA I believe voids any calcium you might take. I take the calcium in the morning. Not sure how much benefits I am getting with all these vitamins, but I figure they can't hurt since my diet in the past hasn't been that clean. I love to lift weights, but hate the body building diets... It takes a lot of dicipline. I'm trying though. :)

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
The key is finding good quality at a reasonable price. :thumb:
There are so many rip offs out there it isn't funny.

i take centrum....according to "centrum" they say take 2 caplets daily....ive been taking them for years (1 a day).....for a week i did just that and i started to get nosebleeds but i didnt know what it was until i narrowed it down to the 2 multivitamins per day (1 @ night, 1 inthe morning) .... according to the part-timer at GNC (yes yes i know) centrum is "chemically based"; of course she was pushing MEGA MENS on me but i didnt buy it cuz its so much more expensive. i dont know how correct she is on that 'chemical' fact but i believe it through my experience.

BruiseKnee,

If she was right @ GNC I would have bought her vitamins just for her helpful advice. :)
How many people would have even thought that Centrum's chemical base could have attributed toward causing your nose bleeds? :hmmm:

But then again, maybe it's to early to base that conclusion just yet.
It sounds to far fetched to me. You would think if that was true they would have been buried in law suits by now; but who knows.

sorry i should have noted that me being at GNC and the time of the nosebleeds were very far apart, like months, i was in GNC for something else at the time...its just 2 "facts" i put together. now as for the nosebleeds, for that time period, i had THE SAME DIET every single day, and i actually did analyze what i had changed, the only thing i changed was the one vitamin. 1 day after i had stopped taking 2, the problem went away. you dont have to believe me, its just my personal anecdote to contribute to this thread.

Are "chelated" vitamins absorbed the best?

Or does this depend on the individual.
