Well first of all I'm starting this journal to help keep my motivation/ consistency going as well as giving myself a point of reference to my goals with my fitness program. As far as myself, I am 21 yrs. old and have always been battling with weight issues. At age 12 I was roughly 4'5 and 185lbs. My middle school diet consisted of no breakfast, 4 or 5 giant chocolate chip cookies for lunch and usually a frozen pizza for dinner as my mom was attending college up to my senior year of highschool so I had nobody to really cook for myself. When I went into highschool, I wanted to loose weight so I joined the Army JROTC in my school and dropped 45lbs within the first year and a half doing their afterschool fitness program but at the same time picked up a 3/4 pack a day smoking habit. After junior year I left ROTC and while I didnt gain any weight, I became more lethargic and really didnt do much excercise or activity up until my softmore year of college.

Within the last year and a half I can honestly say my life has reflected my eating/fitness habits very closely. I should be graduating this semester (Spring of 2006) but due to my lack of motivation I have been out of school for the last 3 semsters. I have been going to the gym but definitely not on a regular basis. Somewhere around 2-3 times a week MAX and my diet has been a joke at best. Chocolate chip cookies are still a main staple in my diet (1-2 cookies 3 or 4 days of the week) and I have gone up to almost a pack a day of smokes. If I do go to Burger King I'll usually have 2 whoppers, fries, Sprite and an appple pie in one sitting (YUCK!!!) I have gained back almost 20 lbs and its starting to show around my neck and mainly waist/oblique area. I finally have decided to take both my life and my health seriously and this journal is my first step. I have been doing nothing but reading as much as possible for the last few months so I know most of the basics yet I have much to learn in terms of preparing and finding the time to eat 5-6 healthy meals a day. I have found just how hard it is as many of us can asses to. AlsoI hope to receive much needed feedback on routines and tecniques to help acheive my goals from the members on here as well.

Ok so in summary my goals are as follows: Develop and stick to a strict meal plan as well as fitness schedule. Focus on my studies and finally graduate!! A long term goal will be to quit smoking. I will be posting my meal plans and workout schedule tommorow as I have to go prepare my meals and study. Here are some pics of myself as of december 1st (nothing has changed since them except my hair is shorter). My weight is 160lbs and measurements are uknown. Gotta have body fat percentage reading done at my gym whenever I get the chance.

P.S. There is something else in the works but that will come at a later time :thumb:
