when they're passed 100 lbs. So my gym doesn't carry 105, 115, 125, etc dumbbells. I thought about purchasing plate mates or WEGGs (magnets that are attached to the dumbbell). But the problem is that these new dumbbells are rubber coated so I don't know if the magnets will hold properly. Any suggestions? These are the dumbbells my gym carries Troy 12-Sided Rubber Encased Dumbbell w/Chrome Steel Handle [TSD-R] : Gain Weight (MUSCLE) or Lose Weight (FAT) - Workout and Diet Programs - Discount Fitness Products, Bodybuilding and Weight Loss Information

do you really need to go up in 5lb increments?

buy weighted wrist straps to add 5 pounds when you want. but seriously, at 100 pounds, I would jump from 100 to 120 or minimum 110 increments..... if you were doing dumbells at 25 pounds and wanted to go up to 30, i got it, but consider that is a 20% increase but at 100, it is only a 5% you wouldn't add 1 1/4 pds to a 25 cumbell curl, you would jump the weight 20% and call it a day....

I'd go heavier and psych yourself out and just get it done..

just looked up the prices for those dumbells, your gym must have spent 10K for a full set whew

my gym uses the same ones. well.. 24hr fitness did
