I didn't think there was anything wrong with the old stuff, but they got some new stuff to replace some older equipment. SWEET.

2 preacher curl benches
2 adjustable flat benches
1 bench press that can be set for decline (1st one they've had)
Cybex calf raise machine
Cybex ab machine

I set up one of the flat benches at it's highest incline (for shoulder presses) and the back of the machine didn't wobble one bit. COOL.

Plus, there were a couple of funky machines that look really complicated. I figure if it's complicated, it can't be too effective (simpler is better).

nice!

my gym just got new equipment about a year ago... unfortunately it was all on the machine side of the gym... and it was almost all new cybex!

they did put down some nice new flooring though, and repainted everything. my gym doesnt look quite so much like a prison-yard now.

Hey, where in MA are you? I work in Springfield, but I live south of Hartford, CT.

Must be something in the air. Our gym just added a trap bar. Oh joy! Can't spend too much on the free weights though. Gotta save the money for MORE cardio machines.

A trap bar? The thing with most gyms is that MORE people are interested in cardio than free weights (result of an uneducated fitness population).

what???You got rid of the wobbly benches? That sux! You need those to work the stabilizer muscles!
:D
I wouldn't know what to do if benches didn't have at least some wobble to them...

How many squat racks have y'all got? We've got one good one..and two..umm....usable. Really sux, if a girl wants to get on it and use the bar across it for her hanging ab workouts.

Those wobbly benches piss me off. Good thing is, NOBODY works out at 5:00 AM, so I'll get those new benches every time. :)

We've got two squat racks. One has those "bail out" safety bars, the other one does not.

Yeah, I like the bail out bars...I usually lift alone. I was feeling a bit strong the other night, so I set those bars to where I couldnt' get past a decent partial and went for a new weight. That was great...my legs still hate me though...I sould like an old man everytime I get up...
:)

My gym just got the ONE Legged Curl machine:D

In wish my gym would get another military press chair. We had one a long time ago, but it disappeared..and not to be found since.
Either have to sit backwards on a preacher bench or put the back of the adjustable bench all the way up and use that. Kind of annoying

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
I guess I am lucky I go to a nice gym that's got lots of stuff. We've got two military press chairs.

They removed the preacher benches with the adjustable arm support. The new ones only have an adjustable seat. That'll piss some people off.

that's it, I'm moving. wait. Conneticut...oof, nevermind...it gets
CO L D there!

gonna be 40 something here...I choose...here...ok, I'd choose Mimi, butt.....not in the cards for now

We're SUPPOSED to be getting a new Nautilus XP plate loaded leg press next week. From what I've seen, this thing is tits. We have the Nautilus Nitro series machines which are pretty nice, at least they're better than the Body Solid crap will still have. All the freeweight stuff is JUNK!!!

Yeah, a trap bar! Did my sarcasm show through?

Don't get me wrong. The bar is good to have, but it's somewhat limited in use. There is other equipment that would be better. Several of the Olympic bars don't have much in the way of a grip anymore. We don't have a decline bench.

I think more people are interested in cardio than free weights because cardio isn't as tough on the body as free weights. I'm not talking running marathons here. I'm talking about 20-30 minutes riding a recumbent bike or walking on the treadmill. You can also sit there on the bikes and chat with the person next to you.

I'm not sure I know what a trap bar is.

Those people that are trying to lose weight, and spend 10 minutes walking on a treadmill frustrate me.

We've got one. Fortunately, most people don't know what it's supposed to be used for (at least early in the morning when I'm working out).

same here...or at least avoid it...
0500 hrs workouts??? That's sick!
I can barely get my fat ass out of bed at that hour!

I have never seen one of those before. Now THAT is one funky looking contraption! :D

I live in Chicopee, right next to Springfield. Just a lil further up 91.

Man... south of Hartford to Springfield every day? Crappy commute. :/

Man... after seeing what the rest of you guys live with, i guess my gym isnt that bad after all.

We also have a similar contraption. I've tried deads on it, it feel kind of wierd.
I was thinking it would be good for standing military press...

My gym just got some of those 100lb plates, makes loading the leg press alot faster BUT some dork keeps putting them on sloped plate rack and they're hard to get your fingers between the plates to get them off.

I do heavy squats with one of these. Talk about a killer leg workout. I can pile on over 100 lbs more on this than I can on back squats.

It's usually not bad. 36 miles each way, but it moves. Traffic can stick a bit in Hartford on the way home, but it's not bad. When it snows, the ride is PURE HELL.

LOL, i bet. It takes me a good 20 minutes to get into Springfield from Chicopee when it snows (and Chicopee is like 3 miles away). There must some suicidal tendencies after 36 miles of that.

Hey IAB-
here you go..I want one of these...guranteed to make the 'commute' to and from work an actual pleasure..
