i will add this i used to be a competitive power lifter in highschool so yes im about an inch below paralel

leg routine looks more like a powerlifter, nice numbers........it all depends on what you are after, powerlifters have tremendoues legs, but not overall shape, decide what u want and build your routine that way, always keep SQUATTING, they are the best and build so much mass overall, just change the order one week when you squat.......ex, one week start with leg press, then squat......and get some more hamstring work, add some addtional exercises in conjunction with stiff leg deadlifts.

ya...... im a power lifter at heart and i could give a shit less what my legs look like i just like having the feeling of a strong base under me.....i always cramp up when i do leg curls......so besides stiff deads what can i do for my hammy's

That is quite the load of squats. I started training in September and have noticed great differences in my legs since then. I do 4 sets of 8 leg extensions, 4 sets of 8 leg curls, 4 sets of 8 straight leg dead lifts, and then 4 sets of 8 squats. Is 4 reps for the squats not enough? I believe it should be 6-8, but what do I know.

do you mean sets or reps? but right now im training for strength doin the low reps than trying to toast them with the last 2 sets..........i feel 4 sets isnt enough but i love squating so that might influnce me in squatin more

No, not 4 sets, 4 reps, you said 5 sets of 4.

I like the routine!
ive been training for 12 years and legs is my favorite to train.

ya im doing the lower rep with higher wieghts training to build more strength.......

wantItbad......i follow 2 principles with my training and make my own routine....1st as a former training partner of gopro...i vary my weeks. with P/RR/S....but I also believe in westside powerlifting ideas as well, and always incorporate them into my training......I myself would not be ending my squats with a light set.....keep finishing with the heavy weight, especially if your building power, pick a wave cycle and go for a new 3 rep max.......as for hamstrings.....reverse glute ham raises are great, if your gym has one........goodmornings are another good exercise and will add tremendous power to your squat(just make sure you keep the arch in your lower back when performing them).....hope this helps....

whats a wave cycle?...right now im goin 4 weeks at 5x8 next 4 weeks 5x6 and 5x4 the next 4 weeks wieghts last cycle were 285 for 5x8, 315 for 5x6 and 375 right now...... so i think thats a cycle but i have no idea what a wave cycle

U Should Through Front Squats Into Your Leg Routine. I Also Go Absolutely All The Way Down......a Competiton Lifter I Know Taught Me This Like 10 Years Ago And My Knees Have Never Hurt. Fronts Target The Quads Too.

Not goin deep enough puts more pressure on the knees.....get low get low lil jon knows what he is talking about.......you learn real quick in comp to go low or they give you fucking red lights

A Lot Harder To Push The Weight Too When You Go All The Way Down......people Who Squat Parallel Dont Understand This

ya i know what you mean... i think i could rep my 1 rep max for like 10 if i squated like some of the dudes in my gym.....

yea u r doing a cycle.......a wave cycle is like this......first thing try doing box squats, slightly below parallel.....it is 5 week mini-cycle..and use 50%, 53%, 55% for 12 sets of 2, emphasizing speed out of the bottom, then the next 2 weeks you start back at 57%, and then 60% for 10 sets of 2.....same priniciple as yours, guess just a shorter lifting cycle...works great.....my numbers are...age 30 bodyweight 186 with BF % 9 and squatted 455 rock bottom lifetime natural.....just one idea for squatting, there are a ton of them....hope this helps.

in high school im a soph in college now ....in HS i got 500 in suit and wraps than took a year off from training....right now Raw i am at 405.....

great squat.......u would most definately benfit from box squats.....give them a try....
