My Metab is out of control what should I do(caloric intake vs Protien quality)

My metabilism is completly out of control for example i took weight gainner 900 for a month 3 times a day and before bed and gained 5 pounds in 4 weeks!!!!!! I need more muscle but I am also doing serious race trainning and I am in school so shakes work best between class's. I am have already Used cytosports muscle milk and liked the effects. now on my off days I need something to take for caloric / protien reasons. since muscle milk has 600 cals a shake and you take 3 that will do me for caloic intake 3 days a week(lift days) the other days will be spent on a bike I so I don't know if I should be taking a protien(100% whey) supliment with bread to fuel muscle growth or if I should take a weight gainner and go for calroic intake and sacrifice protien quality on my off days but we all know you grow outside of the gym. I eat plenty of brekfast lunch and dinner i just can't afford nor do i have the time to make the meals in the middle so it must be shake orriented. Please Help I know I can get bigger than this I just need to stoke my nutritional Fire

You can do home made shakes with ground oats+protein powder, for example. These are a lot better than weight gainers that contain sugars. But you have to put in the effort and plan your meals for your diet to be effective.

Putting on weight at the rate of 2lb/week is the max suggested limit. more than that and you are likely putting on fat.

You can get some great info here which will help you to straighten out your diet to suit your lifestyle and goals.
 
Thanks that is a great page ,but for me cutting isn't a problem. I need to know if a person with an ultra high metabolism should stick to quality protiens and carbs for meals 2, 4, 6 or go for lesser grade protiens and go for caloric intake at these meals to build muscle mass.
 
Whole food is better than shakes. However, for most it is quite difficult to get their protein requirements from whole food alone. Besides time constraints and the immediate situation(if you are in between classes, for example) may not allow you to eat a meal. In which case a shake is adequate.

Just remember that no fats in your pwo shake and last meal before bed is recommended to be a slow digesting protein like cottage cheese + fats. Try and spread your cals of all meals in a similar range (dont have one meal of 100cals and another of 800 cals!)

Why dont you post your proposed diet meal by meal with total cals and macros (as well as your stats and goal) for a critique? But read through the sticky i menationed earlier first. Else if your diet is a disaster, someone might point you back to it.

define lesser grade proteins...

if you have trouble gaining weight you should be consuming carbs with each meal. you need to have constant serum insulin levels to keep the body in a optimum anabolic state...
