Natural Testosterone

Yes, i dont know much about those sorta things so i was just wondering if they are worth using

do some deadlifts and squats and your testosterone will go up.

ehh putting testosterone into your body from an outside source can cause a problem or two like if your feeding yourself testosterone from an outside source yourself could stop producing it because it thinks it doesnt need it and becomes dependant on that outside source, thats just what i have heard

basically, exercise effects testosterone production by stimulating the pituitary gland and testes,

"The duration, intensity, frequency and timing of exercise will determine the circulating levels of testosterone. Testosterone levels increase most with short intense bursts, while it decreases with prolonged activity especially that of frequent endurance training."

"Testosterone is released in higher concentrations by using heavy weights
(5 to 10 rep range) using rest periods of 3 to 5 minutes between sets.
Basic, multi-joint exercises (like squats, deadlifts, barbell rows and dips)
cause a much greater hormone release than isolation exercises (like
flyes, lateral raises, concentration curls)."

so i guess that because multi-jointed exercises stress more skeltal muscles, your body's natural response is to stimulate the pituitary and testes hence not only more muscle building in legs from squat and deadlift, but also in other muscles as well.

i did a bit more research and i found some other natural ways to increase testosterone

sunbathing can suppossedly increase it by 200% (that isnt a typo)

if you wake up before dawn and are exposed to a bright light for five minutes, it can suppossedly increase testosterone by up to 70%, i think.

testosterone is naturally 30% higher in the morning than in the evening (so work out in the a.m. to utelize it effectively)

eating too much carbs brings in insulin and cortisol which will cancel out testosterone (so eat 40% of diet or less carbs, id say)

eat fats (steroids/ hormones in general are made from fats) you need omega-3's

"A recent study demonstrated the influence of diet on pre and post exercise
testosterone and cortisol. After exercise with bench press and squat
to failure, testosterone and cortisol were measured. Those men who were
on a diet with a higher protein/carbohydrate ratio and percent fat content had the largest increase in testosterone and the smallest rise in cortisol."

don't take anything which produces estrogen; these being such as
Soya, Cannabis or Alcohol.

dont get stressed out - stress releases cortisol, adrenaline, and nor adrenaline - all have a catabolic quality.

sory for the long winded response....

nice post ABLQ2, already heard rumors about most of those, never knew if there was much truth in them though

so sunbathing can double my nat. test levels? that 1 i do find a little harder to believe, but i understand most of the others

vitamins and hormones work interdependently, sunlight provides you with vitamin d and this works with testosterone, so i guess the more vitamin d you have, the more you can produce testosterone (to a certain extent). also, in some cells, vitamin d can substitute for testosterone.

but then again, Some clinical guidelines for toxicity are sometimes set as 5,000 to 10,000 iu per day to cause toxicity, but other researchers place the value much higher to reach toxicity. You are however advised to keep your supplement intake to no more than 600 iu per day. Having too much vitamin D in your system could leave a too elevated calcium level, a lower appetite, increased thirst, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, abdominal pain. A long-term effect of too much vitamin D is the deposit of calcium in soft tissues of the body including the blood vessel walls and kidneys where it can cause serious damage.

ablq2 - good post 'bout vitamin D. I've got VERY low calcium and take 100,000 iu of D per day. It keeps me from cramping up too much, unless I try too much cardio.

that information is incorrect, there are no medical studies which prove such

i just read that in a scientific journal somewhere, i cant remember where otherwise id cite it, but there was a study on the light thing in the morning and the sunbathing i read in a deal talking about testosterone levels and natural bodybuilding- its credibility im not certain of. i cant remember where- maybe it is a myth, but i think it works.

edit: the light thing suppossedly raises *LH levels, not testosterone. sory about that.
