I have a 200$ cuisinart blender, but it's absolutely horrible. I try to mix my shake and I get clumps of powder on the sides, and lumps in the shake, powder at the bottom, even after blending for 2 minutes, or stopping, and blending again after it's all settled. I've gone through 2 other blenders, which were equally as bad, but also much cheaper. My friend has an older blender, I think it's called an osterizer. It has a switch that is either on high or low, it's like an industrial blender they use at those health food places. I looked around for one, but with absolutely no luck.

Where did you guys get your blenders (recently, not a few years ago :( ) that can actually blend properly, and can also blend oats into a shake, I'd like to give that another go (without fully whole oats left floating around!).

Go to a juice bar and ask them which ones are good.

I actually have a Cuisinart Duet Blender/Food Processor and it's awesome.

Also, you might be getting lumps in your mixes because of the order in which you put things in, rather than because your blender sucks.

Crush the ice, add half your liquid, then add your powdered stuff, then blend in the rest of your liquid as your mix reaches the consistency you want. At least that's the order that has worked best for me so far. I used to dump it all in at once, and that was always a disaster.

For any shakes I just use a hand held blender. Alot less mess to clean up.

Ok on a serious note. You all need the Tough-O-Matic. It features little windshield wipers on the inside to knock down anything trying to stick.

You can order these for $169.00 from

Handblender is the wheyto go :thumb: Very versatile. Between it and my food processor the blender became useless so we sold it.

I have a cheapo $20 handheld that works like a champ.

I guess I've become lazy in my old age. bottle, protein, water, shake  Chug down, chunks an all

I was the exact same way until I started adding the raw oats, those can get a little tough. :D

Oats and all for me  Just makes it chewy :p

I went and brought a 20$ sunbeam blender at walmart and it works great for me

Not sure if it's the same brand but my wal mart blender handles old fashioned oats every morning w/whey and banana and I've never had an issue

I can't imagine dropping a bunch of cash on a blender unless it had some special powers

As my mum is MAD on makin cakes we wet 1/2's on a £50 blender/mixer from Argos. it works well, but it takes up loads of space on the counter/ worktop
