I bought a Power Rack a few months ago and am loving it! But, now I need to replace my bench.. it's a few years old and is falling apart. I assume most of you go to a gym to workout... but I enjoy having my own equipment.. so, I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions for a new bench..

I was thinking about this one... http://store.yahoo.com/homegym/utilitybench.html , but it does not decline.. and even though I really don't use that right now, I may down the road..

Any suggestions on a new one?

Does that bench have a place for the barbell to sit?

No... I have the power rack for that. http://www.egymequipment.com/powerrack.html

I need one without uprights... not to mention the leg developer needs to be for olympic plates. I'm sure most of the higher end ones are like that, though.

Oh alright you have a power rack. New vocab word for me. That would probably be even better then having one that is attached to the bench. You can adjust where you unrack from.

I bench 300 and wieght 270. I use this bench and have for over a year. no creaks or signs of weekening. Although your choice does say it is stronger. I am just cheap.

Wow... maybe I'll give it a try then.

If you have a Dicks Sporting gods close buy you can go in and check it out. the one on display instore has a rack on it. Or talk to a resale sports shop in your area. Either way good luck. Dicks also has 300 lbs wieght sets, olypmic, for 120 dollars. No I don't work there I just found some great deals there.

I have a bench that holds 800 and I think it was from Dick's Sporting Goods. I've had it for a while now and it's great. You can readjust where you unrack from, it can do two levels of incline, and it has a place from which you can squat in the back. You can also do preacher curls and such on another part of it. It's really a great piece of equipment. I'm gonna have to see what that thing is called...

The preacher curl part would be nice... but I don't need the squatting part or anything like that cause I have my power rack. I'm going to go look in the phone book and see if there's a dicks sporting goods around here.

IMHO the stuff from Dick's sux, I had a Dick's bench, and had to replace it, it almost =killed me (long story), my friend has one and the "Hooks" uprights needed to be trimmed, because it would take undo effort to just lift the damn bar over them.
I need to buy a new one also, I'll prob. duplicate this thread, but i suggest buying one that is just FLAT, then get another for inclines.

First off I must say that your AVI is great SJ69.

Did you mean get an adjustable one for incline? I find the multiple angle benchs very useful.

I don't know about two benches... I am not going to have much room when I move.

lol, yeah I figured why not use something that's nice to look at.

The multipurpose ones are good too have, especially given limited space and money, but I prefer a flat, nothing else bench for flat bench. Then maybe a fixed incline or an adjustable for inclines.
Right now I use an adjustable, set up under a rack I got from Dick's. The rack is cool and has a low row and a lat pulldown, but the first bench that came with it broke (the pin, very scary). Then I replaced it with another adjustbale :tard: and the new one is now BENT, it's a slight decline now in flat position.
