Hello all,
Im new here and to the whole workout thing. and i need to Be pointed in the right direction. Please give me some links or something that teaches me about working out. You know: Diets, workout process, suppliments, routienes. Consider me a Virgin and Dont know anything about working out. Just started about 1 month ago... :wave:

In one of the stickys Robert DiMaggio wrote "If I ate only three meals per day, then my body would be without nutrients for about six hours between each of those meals! This is unacceptable for skinny guys. Without food, your body will quickly begin to breakdown muscle tissue for energy." Well im not a skinny guy. Im 6'1" 220. W/ not much musle. I am looking to gain muscle and loose fat at the same time. Any suggestions?

Well sir, before you decide to choose a workout program. You have to decide, wether you want to gain muscle or loose fat..both cant be done at the same time. What you will experience if you are completely new to resistance training you will gain muscle and loose fat anyway but lets optimize your beginners effects!

Gaining muscle helps burn fat. If you add 20 pounds of muscle you will be burning 123 more pounds of fat every year. If you have a lot of trouble loosing weight, then gaining muscle could help you loose some. If you do bulk though, you will add more fat. It's very had to loose fat and gain muscle at the same time. Maybe if you bulk clean you will loose some, or at least gain minimal.

All this bulk talk or clean bulk talk isnt making sence to me. Remember im a newb. I dont know what that means. Im trying to look good for summer. Loose the gut and look buff. Im taking protein after my workouts and sometimes when i wake up. I would also like to know what is in your guys' diets. What you eat in a regular day... Thanks for your help guys...

Read,read,and then read more,this site contains every tool you need and then some,go back and read old post's cause the only way to learn is to research and ask questions, that's how I learned:thumb:

"Bulk" is when you gain mass. Clean bulk is reffering to the food you eat. When your bulking and have a "clean" diet (purged of simple sugars and other unhealthy things). Cutting is loosing fat and keeping muscle. Check the journal section -http://ironmagazineforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10- look at people's routine and diet there. LOL YEah read!. Ive been reading for about 4 hours now... LOL I keep getting stuck on threads and feel the need to read the whole damn thing. So ive only read like 5 threads so far. Dope!

So what are you trying to do learn everything in one night?I know there's alot to take in here,so unless you plan on reading for the next 60 hours str8 I suggest you just take your time.Dope!

Dude, all I have to say is stick around this forum. Even though i don't have many posts, i have learned so much just from reading around in the past year. I have since formed my own opinions on many topics and have turned those into practices that work for me. Like i said: read, and through trial and error you will find your groove.

Oh and i'd just like to thank everyone that gives quality advice in this forum...not including that purple bunny. J/K

I agree. I've been reading posts here for about a month and have learned a lot. One important thing I've learned is how important your diet is. Working out is less effective without a proper diet before and after the workout.
