listen to trouble, long ago I went by calories alone-ish, not only did the absorbtion rate seem to puzzle me but the weight gain was later partially lost, because you need to absorb effectively and yet still intake a surplus of cleaner foods. Look at the mass gainers made by bsn or ABB, and notice that GNC's mass gainer (frekin sugariszed 2200 calorie) which has over 800 calories more per serving than BSN/ABB, yet GNC's is crap and BSN's/ABB's will ironically allow you see the permanant results you so wish to see. I also like the concentrate on more strength training based when bulking because the two compliment each other w/newfound size and energy your body is experiencing. rest is just strickly educating yourself w/nutritional basis when intaking 4-5k of calories.
