Ok, once upon a time I was eating healthy, working out and was rather big. Then I had liver issues (no, not because of steroids) and fell out of the gym and healthy lifestyle. I have been eating like crap and changing my diet. I signed back up 2 a gym and it has been a year sense the last time I walked into a gym.

My work outs are about 30 minutes long, I am having a problem with energy. I am slap wooped after about 30 minutes. My training used to consist of about 2 hours with extra energy to spare.

Can any give me some ideas on how to get some energy!

Thank you for your help.

I'll be tarred and feathered for this but try a thermogenic supplement. I started get back into working out and had a helluva time..just didn't want to be there when my cozy couch and TV were at home, beckoning me. I used to work out hardcore with an E/C/A stack that kept me going for hours. Now I use Redline gelcaps and man, they give me a kick in the butt. I'm so ready to go I can't even "THINK" about sitting on the couch. Now that I am addicted to the gym again, I've dropped the Redline (unless I need a quick boost).

The other thing which is probably the reason you have no energy is your diet. You didn't post it here so I guess I'm assuming that may be a big factor. Any chance you can psot your daily food intake?

I agree with nero. A supplement may be what you need to give you that kick in the ass to get you going. Once you get going, you can toss the shit to the side.

I wouldn't do a thermo....

Simple questions:
Do you eat before hand?
Have you thought of DURING workout nutrition?
Have you thought of things such as CREATINE/ ENERGY/ NO products?
What is the rest of your life like? (stress, sleep, work etc)

Check simple things first... your DIET, your sleep, your 'drive'... IF that is ok - then look at additional things (like sups). They can't/ will not fix big gaps in the former...

I agree, energy 'supplements' should be on the bottom of your list of possible solutions. I would also check out your diet, make sure you are only drinking water and not taking in ANY sugar. Once you are eating right and working out regularly, your natural energy reserve will shoot up dramatically. If this still doesn't help, I used to take a small caffeine pill before I cycled in the morning(equal to about 2 cups of coffee) and this gave me tons of energy to do more than normal. But I would only recommend this for morning workouts, since taking any energy supplement later in the day may disturb your sleep cycle.

eat a bowl of oats, an apple, and a whey protein shake 45 minutes before your workout

plus 30 minutes isn't bad if your just returning, you'll start to get the extra energy to workout longer once your better conditioned

I wouldn't recommend taking any kind of stimulants, kind of a band aid approach, the right food should do the trick

i personally dont think the foods have 2 much to do with it.
i can eat a turkey sandwich on barley bread with a atkins bar, and have the same energy as eating a nasty chicken sandwich on white breadh with a lot of butter and mayo. and still have same energy. i just think u should try some pumping music or 2-4 cups of tea or even a supplment like no-xplode (they dont do a thing 4 me tho)

Emma, what would be good to have during the workout for someone on a cut with this problem?
Depends (LOL - you knew I was going to say that didn't you! :p ) But really - it DOES depend on what type of diet you are following, what your workouts are like etc etc.

However a weak carb + protein drink would probably be what I would suggest to most people in order to maintain intensity/ strength and stamina (well - unless you were doing specific depletion type workouts or no-carbing it...)...

It wouldn't have to be a lot and, if you don't have a lot of 'wiggle room' for cals - it could take the place of some of your PWO shake (pre and during nutrition is MUCH more important than a a PWO shake)... So something like a little dex or gatorade (or you could chew on some sweettarts if you want) + a bit of whey powder in some water would be fine...
