I'm getting sick of choking down whole oats every morning for breakfast. It's thick and has no flavor. Is there anything I can do to safely season my oats to make them a little more tasty. Calories isn't really a problem as i'm bulking, but I really don't want to resort to this instant oatmeal packages as I will loose quite a bit of nutritional value.

TONS of things you can do to your oaties to make em tasty! I love them!
how about adding some sweetner? (people like splenda or stevia), some cinnamon? vanilla flavouring? add in some berries or chopped apple before you cook it(real good with cinnamon).

  • Cook raisins with the oats. Add a sliced banana, cimmamon, splenda, and a splash of milk.
  • Use oats to make protein pancakes
  • Make bread in a bread machine and add oats ground in a coffee grinder

Try mixing it in a blender! I love to put my protein, oats, and pb together and blend it. AWESOME!

Cocoa and sweetener, instant coffee if I need a kick..

I believe I invented the delicious concept of cocoa oatmeal. At least I think I did. I can't even remember anymore, haha.

Let's just pretend I did. I am also the creator of such delicacies as psyllium cocoa. Right, Jen?

Peace.

Yea use artificial sweetener like splenda

your bulking, use HONEY

mix oats with cottage cheese and PB ;)

do you cook the apples too with the oat?

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Cate- Add Blueberries too!

6 cups rolled oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger
1/3 cup unrefined sweetner (honey/molassas/maple/sorgum/etc)
3 egg whites
1 cup dried fruit, chopped
300? Oven

In large bowl mix oats, cinnamon and ginger. In separate bowl, mix
sugar and egg whites until combined. Add to oats and mix. Loosely
pat into large non- stick cookie sheet at bake at 300? for 30-40
minutes, stirring after 20 minutes. This mixture tends to get very
dark, so adjust time to your taste. When done, let granola cool
before adding fruit. Store in airtight container

Is roasted whole oats a possibility?? I can't stand cereal type stuff but I could probably eat it dry.

yep...it melts and it smells like someone's baking. :D

Mmmmmmmmmmm .............makes me wish I had some PB right now with my oats. :nanner:

I would do that....if I mixed fats and carbs in meals. I'm way too anal about that kind of thing.

Peace.

diced walnuts, cinnamon, dash of nutmeg, and a dash of ginger, equal parts applesauce and dry measured oatmeal with a little bit of cinnamon will make it taste like the apples and cinnamon instant flavoured oatmeal, also i had a good experience making a pumpkin oatmeal, i used a half cup of canned pumpkin(not pumpkin pie mix, too much sugar, but regular canned pumpkin) with some pumpkin spice and some sliced almonds. that was pretty good. if milk works well for you, adding a little bit of milk or using milk instead of water will make it much creamier in taste

also if you cook the oatmeal the day before and through it in the fridge, the flabours will come out much stronger when you reheat it

wouldn't that ruin the oatmeal's nutritious?

Hey Greeky- did you have oats for breakfast today?

 and I had some in the afternoon too!

Oaties in the morning oaties in the evening oaties at suppertime

When oaties are in my bowl I will eat oaties anytime!

greeky you crack me up ;)

i use splenda cinnamon and molly mc butter...tastes fine to me

Mostly carbs and fruit, I dont care as much for brown rice and sweet potatos
