I was watching a DVD last night, and in the 'extra features' Michael Jai White said that he drank three gallons of distilled water a day. I am not going to go that far, tap water is fine as far as I know, I've just bought a 1ltr bottle, so I was wondering how many ltrs make 3 gallons?

If anyone has any idea please lemme know thanks

a believe a liter is a litter more than a quart, and there are 4 quarts in a gallon. so i would guess 10-12 liters??

1L = 1QT + 1.8oz

I just count 1L the same as 1QT. 4QT's = 1 Gallon

I'll let you do the math ;)

Jodi is correct...in Canada we use L....about 4 L per gallon....12L water is a lot...you will pis every 30 minutes gaurenteed BUT you will hold NO water either.

What is the 'ideal' ammount of water to drink, plsu what is 'distilled' water?

It is water that was distilled in a lab or factory.

Distillation basically involves evaporating the water under a cold conical tent. The water vapor condenses upon the dome and treakles down the edge into a gutter. In theory, you have separated pure water from all the "impurities" (minerals, chlorine, bacteria, oxygen, nitrogen, etc.).

The problem is that:
a) distilled water is absolutely tasteless, which is quite surprisingly disgusting. (Yes, non distilled water does have a slight taste.)
b) distilled water is free of minerals and air which is extremely hard on the digestive system!
c) distilled water is more likely to have an acidic PH than tap water (due to normal reactions with the air).

In short, assuming that you live in an area where water is drinkable, you are a million times better off drinking tap water (even if it tastes foul) than distilled water. If you are worried about the chlorine content of your tap water, just pour the water into an open container and let stand for about 20 minutes before drinking it (which gives time for the excess chlorine to evaporate).
