I've been doing mostly just cardio recently ... runs, rollerblading, soon to be biking ...

But I've been having a problem!

After about 45 mins of blading ... or 1.5 miles traveled running ... my right foot goes tingly numb!

Just the foot, not the calf or anything.

I have a Dr. Appt Monday, 'cause I've let this go too long ... my suspicion is that when my muscles swell, I pinch a nerve or cut off circulation ...

I dunno, but it is FREAKY!

This ever happen to anyone here before?

 Not sure what it could be, have never had a foot go numb, they often get sore the first couple times blading durring the start of the year but not numb.

Actually...this is pretty common w/ cardio exercise....you tend to put pressure on the ball of your foot, where the nerves are...it's called Transient Paresthesia or something like that. If it goes away after you stop exercising, I don't think it's anything to worry about :D

Try to make sure you have supportive shoes that absorb shock well and don't wear them too tight. ...and move your feet every so often to try and change the pressure points.

Thank you so much! I was freakin' out!!!

The numbness does go away ... the reason it was scary is because this has never happened before.

I have new balance shoes and don't tie them TOOO tight, but they are tight for running ... skates are definitely too tight ...

We'll see ... have a Dr. appt Monday and hope they reiterate :)

Thanks again!

Ok ... the Dr. didn't consider it normal ... she actually said "gee, I hope it's nothing bad!" ... @@

I have an appointment for an x-ray of my back and leg (checking for a disc misalignment I think) ...

She said that if it continues, I will need an MRI in a couple months ...

Well, if it makes you feel any better, at least they're looking to make sure everything is ok.

Seems like when ever I see a doctor here, they wright me a prescription for some expensive pill and send me home. :(
