I swear, I think I need a 12- step program for mixed nuts- anyone else crave them? How do you deal with it? AARRGGHHHH!:(

i eat unsalted peanuts all the time.... and they are great

nuts are good for some because they are so calorie dense but bad for those on a cutting/precomp diet

Yeah, but I don't do unsalted- I want/crave the salt. And, I have no control when it comes to nuts- I can seriously eat a whole can- till I feel ill (basically how I feel right about now...) Damn nuts.

best way is go cold turkey ...dont buy any more

the one step that you need to take to break that addiction or craving- is to completly cut out all nuts and nut butters from your diet for ONE week- see how you feel after that.
I find that by just removing that one thing for a period proves a significant difference. the more you feed the craving-the more you end up craving it. its a mad cycle.

for me it is real simple, "out of sight, out of mind" I mean i will never crave junk food or anything to the point where i will go out to get some, but if it is just sittin there in the fridge or the counter then it is real hard to resist. But really whats the problem with the nuts, i eat a ton of them that is where i get most of my fats from

I thought they were bad because of the high fat content- also sodium in them not good, and if you eat a whole can (or almost) it is a lot of calories. So you don't think they are bad?

if you have them in the house, don't eat them straight from the can, it's killer cause before you know it the can is half gone, just grab a small handful and go

The excess is the problem. :) I count everything, even the weight of nuts, they fit very well in my diet.
Do you like brazilian nuts ?

EDIT: Sodium content for brazilian nuts is about 1mg per 1oz.

yeah, i agree, just weigh them. Theres no reason to go low-fat, ever....except refeed obviously.

even if you were to eat from a pre packaged brand of mixed nuts on a bulk, its not going to hurt you.

SOOO- how much does a can weigh? J/K!!!:eyebrow:  :funny:
I love ALL nuts- well, except maybe almonds....but there is this one brand- "Nutty Guys" I think, that makes the best almonds I have ever tried.

Oooh, I'm a nutty girl too :nut: I cut out all nuts 10 days ago and I feel much better :) I don't crave them anymore unless I see them :p

I don't want to talk about nut..I wish if there is a diet, where all you can eat is nuts and you can eat them as much as you want

you really do have an addiction LOL :p

Nuts our are friends! Just have to eat them in moderation and never more than 1/4c. at per serving. They have the good fats in them. Best choices are walnuts, almonds, cashews and peanuts. I know I am forgetting one or two. Best to get them in the bulk section of the food store without the salt added to them. But in a chrunch...I do like those honey roasted cashews!! Damn things aren't in my diet this time.

oh yeah the smokehouse almonds grubbbb

this is the stragest thing.. i just went to the vending machine (taboo!!) and the first thing i saw was peanuts mixed with sunflower seeds so i got them. Good thing i ran out of money or i i would of gotten something else; i hate being at work while working on a thesis!!!:o

anyways the first thing i thought about when i got the nuts, was what kind of nuts would actually be good for me to eat and not have too much carbohydrates to screw my date over, and i was coming to post to ask and then i see this thread. so the question is

what nuts are okay to eat that have low carbohydrates, i know peanuts are not that great cause they seem to have as much carbohydrates as protein! ;(
