As long as you are using rolled oats then neither is 'better' - you can do which ever you enjoy more.shiznit2169 said:should i cook my oats in a microwave and then add milk and bananas and eat it for cereal or should i just do that without cooking it and eat it raw?
Which one is better?
What about the Old Fashioned Quaker oats variety? Can those be consumed raw?Emma-Leigh said:As long as you are using rolled oats then neither is 'better' - you can do which ever you enjoy more.
If you are using scotch oats (looks like rice that has been chopped up) or oatbran (looks like very course sand) then you need to cook it.
Seeing I live in Australia and have no idea what these are - I have no idea!gmontem said:What about the Old Fashioned Quaker oats variety? Can those be consumed raw?
Kracin said:yeah, the overweight thing is really a problem that is going to be hard for food companies to help with. they all have sugars in things, and if one decides to make it actualy healthy and remove the sugars and bad things, it will taste "Worse" to a lot of people and then they iwll lose a lot of sales, so they keep it at the same taste and nutrition. but the thing is, if they keep feeding people stuff that is gonna make them have a heart attack in 20 years due to extreme obesity, isnt that techincally a bad long term investment?

Every morning i add a cup of dry, rolled oats in a bowl with 1 cup milk, bananas, and cinnamon. I was wondering if this is good for cutting? If not, what should i do instead...and i prefer to eat them dry because i dont like cooking them.
