They aren't taking any more money from the "rich" than was being taken before. He has yet to raise income taxes on anyone, although I imagine he eventually will. This bailout is nothing more than socialism, I agree, TO THE RICH. So what if he wants to give a few thousand middle class people willing to work shitty jobs working on highways and wind energy?
He is talking about placing pay caps on execs of companies and corps.

If he has his way, the tax on gas & electricity is going to astronomical, which raises the cost of everything. Funny.. we get 13 dollars more/week & he's credited with "cutting taxes". When this cap & trade disaster is implemented it's going to cost us hundreds per month.

Based on what though? He's been in office for 2 months, was a nobody before that, and has yet to accomplish anything. What makes him a true leader?

Faith brother! ;)

Faith brother! ;)

This must be sarcasm, coming from the most faithless person on this board.

I cannot believe you place any more than meager belief in a politician who has proved he is up to nothing but business as usual.

nope, and just because I am not religious does not mean I have no faith. :thumb:

If I remember correctly, he's against organized religion, not faith/God

Sorry Im not subscribed to your blog, I only know your character through the few times you've scolded, patronized or threatened me.

You've personally attacked my faith before, comparing my belief in God to belief in Santa Claus. I reasonably assumed you had no faith.

In any case, I simply don't understand the placing of any faith or belief in a politician who has a tinnnyyyy record, and frightening affiliations.

I do not have a personal blog where I discuss my beliefs. :)

..and what doesn't make him one?

He shows he can lead, he shows confidence in his speech.

I have a habit of talking real low and sometimes I mumble, much like Bush does...actually I am a lot like him when he speaks.
I was told I don't show confidence.

I'm a terrible public speaker.. horrid. Bush could put me to shame drunk.

I don't think that makes me stupid.

Obama needs to be more than a good speaker, and we should require him to be. He's failed several times without a teleprompter. That's not just a talking point.

I've said several times I just wish people would put him into context. At this point, I don't see how he's been anything other than an inspirational speaker.

I see, actually I believe that would be sarcasm, not a figure of speech. :)
It was a sarcastic figure of speech.

whatever Prince you win.

It doesn't make you stupid but if the person doesn't know you he may think you are.
I think you and Brogers are the only ones I ever heard say that.

Now I am pretty surprised no one mentioned this before, but he should stop being so personal.
He gave Rush too much credit and now he gets the public all pumped up for a lynching of AIG execs....now he's flip flopping.
Obama tries to temper furor over AIG bonuses

By CHARLES BABINGTON ??? 7 hours ago
WASHINGTON (AP) ??? President Barack Obama is trying to dampen a fire he once stoked, urging a more tempered response to public furor over bonuses paid to executives of the publicly rescued insurance giant American International Group.
Obama is virtually certain to use Tuesday's prime-time news conference to continue an effort that began over the weekend: cooling the anti-AIG ferocity, now that it threatens to undermine his efforts to bail out the nation's deeply troubled financial sector.
Obama's tone changed dramatically after the House voted last week for targeted taxes to take back most of the $165 million in bonuses paid to AIG executives. Many lawmakers felt Obama had encouraged their step, because he called the bonuses reckless, outrageous and unjustified.
In the White House, however, the situation seemed to be spinning out of control. Some fellow Democrats questioned the constitutionality and wisdom of the House's action. Executives of other troubled companies signaled they would not make deals with a federal government that revises agreements after they are signed.
On Sunday, Obama told CBS' "60 Minutes" the House's plan to slap a special tax on the AIG executives would be unconstitutional. Borrowing a line from his Feb. 24 speech to Congress, he said he would not "govern out of anger. more
"

"I do think that the Republican Party right now hasn't sort of figured out what it's for," Obama said in a White House interview with The Courier-Journal and reporters from five other newspapers. "And so, as a proxy, they've just decided 'we're going to be against whatever the other side is for.' That's not what's needed in an economic crisis."

He added that "you could play that game maybe in the early '90s, when basically we were pretty prosperous. Right now, everybody's got to pull together."

"On budget issues, what you've seen is the Republican Party trying to position themselves as fiscally conservative after eight years of being in power and not being particularly fiscally conservative, and I understand their efforts to brand themselves in that fashion," the president said.

"I just want to make sure that when it comes to solving this current economic crisis, that we don't get so caught up in short-term politics that we're missing the big picture," Obama said.

He's not even a good speaker. He is simply literate. He reads speeches prepared for him by other people and this was his #1 strong point to many people who voted for him. The recent gaffe where he actually thanked himself for inviting himself when he was reading the Irish PM's speech off the teleprompter was absurd.

Even with a teleprompter, he can lose his place and sound like an idiot

The only thing that separates him from this woman is literacy/pronounciation. Both are clueless, both read what others have prepared for them without understanding anything that they are saying.
