Tough Old Man said:I'm sorry for laughing at this one. If this was true, 99% of the people walking around at the malls and everywhere else would fall over. Come on CP.
Try to have your average person do anything on one leg for more than a brief moment. They will fall over. I see it with virtually every new client I get or see come into the gym. It's more of an issue if you work a sedentary job, which is everyone in DC. There are different degrees of this problem obviously, but I have seen some really nasty cases. I am actually talking people who have a fucked up gait because of their inhibited glutes.
Also, people can compensate for weak glutes in a variety of ways. Hell, there are elite athletes that have poor mobility and firing patterns, but they have been performing set skills since they were so young that they know how to compensate for their deficiencies very well. That's when injuries happen and new skills are learned poorly.
