Hi,

So, I'm a newb. And I started working out like 3 months ago. And a friend who happens to be a personal trainer gave me a routine and helped me get started.

Now, I've noticed my left chest (or due to lack of a better term, breast) looks a little more lined and defined and slightly larger than the one on the right.

I talked and showed this to my friend, and he said it might happen.. but the body won't allow it, so in due course of time, it will be re set itself the way it should be.

What do you guys think/suggest?

Actually, most people have a better side. Most everything on the left side of my body is slightly bigger than on the right side of my body. Trust me though, you're probably the only one who notices it unless you direct people's attention to it.

devil..I have the same problem. First, put the barbell down and start using the dumbells. In my case my right delt is a little larger than my left delt; therefore, my right delt takes some extra load off my right pec. If you continue to use a barbell and continue the same exercises it will get worse.

how about this one......on my 6pack....the top 2 rows are about even, but the left bottom muscle is bigger than the right, yet my right obliques are firmer than my left obliques......plus i seem to collect slightly more fat on the side to the right of my bellybutton.

Invanry: Thanks. But I don't use any barbells. I use dumbells, because I'm a beginner. But in dumbells, I see sometimes I don't do it properly.. so I've moved to the machines as well now. The same exercises on machines. I'm hoping they will even it out, because they're much more constant.

cheesegrater: I think that IS fuct! Sorry to hear man.

Now, what do you guys do to even this?

ive got the same problem, had it for years... dbs, bbs, it doesnt matter, its genes... Just add on size, the bigger your chest gets, the less and less it will be noticeable.

yea thats gonna happen with different parts throught out your lifting..i suggest dumbell presses and sum cable flys..good luck

for my thing i doubt it's so noticeable that anyone casually looking will notice, especially girls, and the difference isn't so vast that it's unnattractive.....like if the good muscle is a 10, the lesser one would be a 9 or 8.5 or something like that....

what bra size do you rock?

Lol j/k.. its perfectly normal.. my right arms is bigger than my left:) but then again..Ive been using my righ hand since 13 for extra-activities :D

juggernaut, hahahahahahah...
SAME here. Like totally ditto!

Is there even a way anyone works around to this? Like a little more workout on the smaller muscle?

I would think any workout designed to correct that would likely only make it worse. Nobody notices but you, trust me. My left arm is a lot bigger than my right, no one has ever noticed as far as I know.

So you got one big titi and one little titi? Do they call you big and smalls? :D :thumb:

MY left chest is bigger than my right. I evened it a bit by concentrating on my right side more during a rep, making sure I "squeezed" the right chest hard as I could at the top of the rep. It evened out a bit, but not completely. My wife only noticed after I pointed it out.

Yeah, someone told me it MIGHT get worse if I try to even them out.
:/

That doesn't make any sense...

what i heard is ur left side is always gonna be a little bit larger cuz ur muscular organ that pumps blood through the body is located in that region The Heart. i have no clue if it's ture but im just gonna put it out there to see if anyone else has heard about this aswell.

You could try reading it in English.

I did. What I'm saying is that it makes no sense problems will result if you attempt to correct the imbalance.

Oh, my apologies for being rude.

Yes, I don't know. But one user here also pointed it out. And somepeople in the gym also told me that.

AND, my friend (the personal trainer dude) said "the body won't allow that"
lol.

So yeah, I'm confused in that.

You might not ever be able to fully even them out, but I don't think adding in additional work for the lagging side is going to exacerbate the situation...
