i work out 3 times a week : i do a bit of abs and 2 muscle groups per day. i do 8 sets for large groups and 6 sets for the smaller ones. every week i change group combos and i do different excercises or in a different order. i wanna gain size ,so i try to do 4 to 8 repetitions per set.

example:

monday:
abs

chest

bench press 2 x 4-8 rep
flyes 2 x 4-8 rep
incline 2 x 4-8 rep
decline 2 x 4-8 rep

biceps

standing curls 2x 4-8 rep
incline curls 2x 4-8 rep
preacher curls 2 x 4-8 rep

I would cut the number of sets to 4 for the biceps to much work doing 6 sets in my opinon.

by doing 2 sets for 4 excercises , is it ok , or is it better to do 4 sets for 2 excercises?

how come 6 sets for biceps is alot? i train them once a week.
what about 6 sets for tris?

Is that your whole routine?

well um yeah i do 4 sets with 10-8-6-4 reps with biceps adding 5 pounds each time. as for tris i do variuse things using machines.

what if u have legs - triceps combo .where the tris dont get hit from anywhere while doing legs, is it ok to do 6 sets then?

i seem to be a little confused: its better to do 4 sets of bis and tris because i had worked them out as a secondary mucle while working out another another group?

example: if i did back on monday and biceps on thursday or monday chest and tris thursday, do i do 4 sets cause i had worked them out on monday or do i do 6 sets?

Are you getting the results you want from lifting with the current number of sets?

Instead of 2-2-2 for chest, I'd do:
3 x flat bench
3 x incline bench
2 x decline flies
then do 3 sets of decline bench and 2 of incline flies the next week.
Just my opinion here, your's is fine to.

As for your second muscle group, I would consider switching to Chest/Tri's
Tri's: 4-6 total sets

Back/bi's
Back 9 total sets
Bi's 4 total sets

Legs/Shoulders
Legs 9-11 total sets
Shoulders 6 total sets

Bottom line, if your routine is working for you than stick with it. :)

i appreciate ur help guys. when i go to the gym i dont have in mind what excercise to do. i decide right there, provided the benches or machines are available. i never have an identical routine as the previous one changing combos and excercises. i have been training for 10 years, im 27 now. i was young and foolish, overtraining for a large part of that. i had to slowly learn about protein, carbs ,i was a fat phobic. i wish iron magazine forums existed back then. i weigh 212 pounds, im around 6 feet. many people ask me if im on steroids. i tell them" r u kidding , i would weigh 275 lbs and lean if i was on roids".
since i never keep the same combos do u still suggest to cut small muscle sets to 4 whether i combine my biceps with shoulders or legs or back? and same for tris with chest or legs or back? thanx

I would use a log to keep track if your switching your routine so often, its gotta be hard to keep track of progress otherwise.

If your not doing bi's with back, then I also would probably do 6 sets, doing them together is more time efficient.
