I have gotten alot of wonderful, healthy recipes from this site - so thought I'd share one of my own. The measurements are approximate, feel free to modify.
16 - 18 oz. pkg ground lean turkey
1 egg white
1 mashed garlic clove, or 1 tsp of prepared garlic from jar
1 can water chestnuts, drained and cubed
3 green onions, chopped
1 heaping tsp. "Chinese 5-Spice Powder" (in spice aisle at grocers or in bulk form at health food stores)
1/4 C. low sodium soy sauce
1 Tbls. Hot Chili Garlic Sauce, more if you like heat! (I use Sun Luck brand)
2 heaping Tbls. coarsely ground oatmeal
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, mix well - I use my hands. Form into balls and bake on a foil covered cookie sheet sprayed w/Pam. Bake for around 1/2 hour at 350 degrees (preheat oven), or until brown. I serve mine over hot rice and drizzle on Hoisin Sauce (Sun Luck brand) that I've diluted with water. This really satisfies my Chinese food cravings and is so much healthier!! Enjoy!
