"Krokodil" is just desomorphine, an opiate. It's manufactured from codeine, which is sold with a prescription only in the US and OTC most everywhere else. So it's not exactly legal. And it's not the drug itself that will fuck with your body, it's the corrosive chemicals people mix in with the codeine (like hydrochloric acid) to "cook it" and convert it to desomorphine. If you can get clean desomorphine, your body won't rot from the inside out and require extensive amputation, like in the video you linked. But you'll still be hopelessly hooked on an opiate more potent than heroin, so that can't be too much fun...
