ok I went to gym yesterday trained fullbody as usual to keep building good foundation back up. I do 2 on 1 off 2 on 2 off. Went to do normal day 3 routine today to mix it up usaually have sat off. Anyway did my Alt bi db and then my curls then went to squats pulled off 60x3 @ 10, 10, 8. So after I'm done I get this shooting pain in my head like a migraine. Have got this before but not nearly as bad. Have any of you ever got this? What should I do?

Sounds like you need to breathe when you're lifting and drink more water.

I agree, how you breathe is very important especially when your lifting heavy.

possible factors are water, not breathing, doing to much wieght to quick. i know i have got a wicked migraine from popping to much wieght up to quick. kinda like a lightening bolt shoots through my head slow it down. works for me any way.

I did some research and all my symptoms point to this: but I hope Not.....

Subdural hematoma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I somehow doubt that what it is. SH are usually related to head trauma (like the Wiki says in para.2). So unless you smacked your head with a plate, I wouldn't sweat it.:D

I've gotten this from time to time, but it is usually due to neck strain. How's your posture when doing squats? I'm betting that it is a simple strain....these guys can cause serious headache(s). Do a search on exertional headaches.

See a Doc if you're that concerned. Better safe than sorry.:thumb:

LOL why didnt you post earlier? I saw a doc today she said it was a Trap Strain. So yeah 800mg IBprophen no lifting upper body 2 weeks. Give me time to work on Lower body anyway. Thanks...... :thumb:

Yeah, what Gaz said. I have always run into problems when doing not only squats, but movements like lat pull downs ( I will never do these behind my neck again for this reason) and sometimes v-bar pull downs. It has a lot to do with neck positioning/posture under stress. You may need someone to help you with form when doing squats...sometimes it is better to have a second pair of eyes.....and someone to catch the weights when they fall off of the bar.:D

Ya I know, same thing my mom said, i am just a freakazoid when it comes to shit like that, I have had so many health issues in the past IM glad thats all it is too.... Warm up as in Lighter weights? I am only doing 60 on squats as it is guess i need to go lower next time.... I think thats what happened on either that or the Lat Machine 80lbs closed 100lbs open im thinking Lat Machine...

I mean warmups as in ballistic stretching, but starting with a warmup set is also a good addition to that.

Cowpimp wrote a great sticky topic about dynamic flexibility and warmups. I've used that sort of setup for ages and it works really well.

For a warmup set i'd lower the weights by a few RMs (if you're doing 12 reps, use your 16 or 18RM).
