I am super careful in all my form. If something doesn't feel natural, the way a joint rotates or even the delayed soarness is more painful, I change or stop whatever it was I was doing. Just last week my dad had me moving some heavy stuff and I was angry b/c he was rushing and all I could think was "Gosh I don't need to be out of commission for weeks for this". Same goes with training. I use heavy weights but nothing that is risking keeping me away from my training. ;)

being impatient and upping the weight by too much compared to what u last lifted will only cause injury

i have never been injured, ever. And i go as heavy as possible. Although im pretty good a guaging my limits. Im confused on the "taking risks" thing. There should be no risk taking when it comes to lifting heavy objects IMO.
I workout along these lines as well. If you are not using proper form, you are risking injury, and having a torn bicep in the past has taught me to make sure I warm up and lift within my limits (including good form). However, that does not mean you do not attempt heavier wts or additional reps. That is what we do to make gains. Always more wt or more reps. But I would not risk injury. What for, my ego to say I did it? Choose your battles, win the war.

Don't injure yourself  If you do, I you're probably trying to progress to quickly. You've got the rest of your life to better your PB's.
