I might try and get a few certs at some point. What are the most important/applicable ones to go for?

Without going back to college and getting a B.S. degree, ACE (American Council on Exercise) and ISSA (International Sports Science Association) are prob the best.

ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) are the top two certs in the field, but they require a degree in sports medicine.

NSCA- National strength and conditioning association is a great one. They have a cpt- certified personal trainer and a cscs-certified strength and condtioning specialist.

The cscs requires a bachelor's degree but if you look at many respected strength coaches they all carry a cscs. NSCA is a very well respected company.

I have a nasm and think its great as well, you don't need a bachelor's degree for it and acsm does not require a bachelor's degree either.

ACE- american council on exercise is another common one- that may be worth looking into but I don't know much about ACE.

Personally I would chose between nasm, nsca, acsm but thats just me :)
