A PT at my gym this morning was training an obvious newbie, but the trainer was NOT teaching the member good etiquette. They left three sets of dumbells scattered around a flat bench while they hopped from machine to machine doing different exercises. Every ten minutes or so, they'd come back to the bench, do one set of an exercise, then leave again for another machine. They did this for at least 40 minutes. You'd think a trainer would know better than to teach a new member bad habits. Not like it was a real effort for them to put the dumbells on the rack between sets...the heaviest weight was 20 lbs.

BAH!

They were probably doing a circut and didn't want anyone using the bench. I hate that crap also.

Most likely.

I would not have minded if it was my usual weekday morning, 5:00 AM workout when the gym is dead, but this is Saturday morning and the gym was pretty busy.

ALL the trainers at my gym do crap like that. Every routine they put together seems to be a circuit and they utilize so much crap!

I had one take a weight plate away from me once to use for person he was training. :(

The trainer does the same crap at my gym. He puts all his rubber rope things and mats and balls all over the place and takes all our dumbells and scattrers them all over. If he is working with someone I just come back later because he takes up at least 50% of the gym.

Shit I wish he`d try to screw up my workout ,I`d let him know he`s not the only one that has paid for a membership. Most personal trainer`s out there are nothing more than professional rep counter`s anyway. The reason they do a circuit type routine is that they don`t want to devote time to each individual trainee. Some are great, most of them suck and could care less about the gains of their clients. Can you say MONEY?

Too bad I don't have to time to stop in tomorrow (Sunday) to see this first hand!

BTW, it's frickin' cold here in CT/VT!!!

I have not had to deal with that...I'm thinking though...if I saw that..and they were taking so long in between sets and need that bench / apparatus (if another was anot available) I would just take it. They could say something, but too bad. As said prior, I too pay membership dues and don't have time to wait while they take up all the space. I'll be done in a few more sets..

I was so stunned by it!! At first i didn't even realise what happened till he was walking away, besides I'm a nice guy. But right after i got really pissed!

that sux, bud!
the nerve of some people.

Really! I gave him a "mean" look after though! :) I think he learned his lesson! :)

(as I sit from behind the safety of my keyboard)
I'd walk right after him, snatch that weight right out of his hand, slam it down in front of him..rip of my shirt and flex in front of him, putting the fear of burner into his soiul, then grab my plate and go abck to what I was doing..leaving him trembling with terror..
:D

Hmmm. sounds kinda familiar. :) LOL The problem is once I got pissed, I didn't want to do anything to disrupt the w/o. The person who hired the PT didn't do anything wrong, I wouldn't want to make it a bad experience for him.

yeah..but fuq the PT....woulda at least made him look like an idiot..
:D
