I have recently turned 36 and have been training for well over 10 years. When I started I topped the scales at roughly 11stone (154lb) I am now up to 13stone 7 (189lb) but I have been at this weight for about 2 years now. My diet is fairly good and I get 180 to 200g of protein a day, I eat nuts like there is no tomorrow and take fish oil daily. I take creatine and l'glutamine every morning and post workout (along with 40g of protein + 20g glucose/ 20g maltodextrin). But whenever I try to bulk the biggest effect is on my waist line.
I think I have reached my natural potential and am looking to use prohormones to gain some extra size. I am looking at h drol as a first cycle with all the relevant cycle assist and post cycle support.
I was just looking for a little advise and support as I have never delved into such substances in the past.

Any advise would be greatly received.

Most of the members on this board will advise that you run a Test cycle instead, as it is safer and will yield better results.

That being said, I have heard good reviews of H-drol and it is a relatively mild PH. You would want to run it for 6 weeks at a min of 75mg a day for best results. You will also need a SERM like clomid or nolvadex as part of your PCT.

I have considered a steroid cycle but I am very weary about purchasing that type of product over the net and I don't know anyone personally who has taken test or any other steroid (well, none who would admit to it)...
I was set on ph but you have got me thinking now. I will do some serious research on the subject and base my decision on that.

I would also go with a basic test cycle, will do much more than the PH cycle. Have an ai like adex or exemestane on hand, and get clomid nolva or torem for your pct.
 
I agree with above. Even if you chose a PH adding test will help.
 
Thanks guys, I have had a very quick look around the web and to be honest Im a little overwhelmed by all the info. I will take a lot more research to find all the answers I need. However I am realy strugling with the idea of injecting *(I know I sound like a big cry baby, but I know I would fu*$ it up and end up causing myself some dammage).
What are your views on oral steroids *(anadrol, dianabol, anavar) will they cause the same liver problems as PH ?
Also my wife is in the medical industry and has worked with drug & alcohol abbuse victims so a refrigirator full of AAS and a drawer full of syringes wouldn't go down too well.
 
I did a few prohormones. I would suggest pmag at 75mg ed for 35-40 days. If you eat and train right it will throw some mad size and strength on ya.

I personally lost 7% bf, added 22lbs of lean muscle mass and had a net gain of 11lbs in 35 days. I kept every bit of it.

It really shut me down but I bounced back nice. Use CEL products. It's was a fun month and a half. I kept making strength gains for almost the next month after I was done.

My bench jumped from 275 x 3 to 365 x 1. Not bad for a prohormone.
 
If you can find some of the old Primordial Performance prohormones, you'll be looking good. Our Turinabol was a great Hdrol clone. One we never made but if you get it, you will probably like it, its called Epi. We also have a new line of prohormones coming out called the Androsereis and they arent methylated (harsh on the liver ), but almost as strong. Take a look at our site if interested.
 
Take your time and do research on steroid cycles, pct, etc. Educate yourself first. I would run test if I were you, even a long low dose cycle.

Honestly, I would read up on our AndroSeries. It may cost more than the standard OTCdrols, but many people are starting to realize that a safer compound is worth it. Take a look at the writeups, I think you will like them.

Oral only cycles are generally not a good idea. Some can be done with success, but you absolutely have to have your diet and training and PCT plan in place. Also, Anadrol would be a bad choice for this type of cycle, and Anavar will not net you the gains I believe you are looking for. Your best option is to run Test Enanthate or Cypionate at 400mg or so a week. Oh, and it doesn't have to be refrigerated :)

There is a way I found for an oral d-bol cycle to be effective, but I won't publicly post it b/c some stupid ass 17 year-old would run it and shoot his liver to hell.:shooter:

Be careful with getting your research from the street. Stick with what you read right here in the stickies from guys like heavy, victor, and other Mods.

I know plenty of gym rats using aas in the gym and most have issues because they either don't know any better or think they know it all and don't run proper cycles.

I imagine that's where aas's gets their bad name from (in the media). People who don't really know what they are doing messing around with potentially dangerous substances. That's why I joined this forum - to get good advice from people who know their sh*t.

After reading a ton of threads and articles over the past weeks I think I will go down the ph route for now. I am looking at running Pmag at 75 per day for 4 to 5 weeks. I will pre-load with cycle assist for 1 week before and throughout the cycle. I will then run CEL pcs for a further 4 weeks.
I plan to start mid may so still time to fine tune the plan.

Whilst on the cycle should I change my training methods??
I currently run a 4 day split :-
day 1 - shoulders & traps
day 2 - back &bi
day 3 - rest
day 4 - chest 7tri
day 5 - legs
day 6&7 rest
I do 4 exercises for large body parts (2 compound & 2 isolation) and 2 for smaller.
2 warm up sets on first exercise (always a compound movement) followed by 3 to 4 sets to failure at aprox 8 reps. I reduce the weight by roughly 5lb on each set so I still fail at 8 reps. On the isolation movements I do the same drop system but up the reps to 12 to 15.
My workouts are based around the five common compound movements:- squats, dead lifts, bent row, mill press and bench press. But I try to never do the same workout 2 weeks in a row.
This system seems to work fairly well but I am open to suggestions for you guys.
 
I have read that h-drol & p-mag are both sound choices of a first cycle, but p-mag is purely a bulk where h-drol will also strip a little fat. At this stage I simply want to add size and strength and am not to worried about cutting until I reach a good size.
I you have any thoughts or ideas please let me know, any input is welcome.
