Would a couple pieces of fruit like an apple and a banana mixed with protein be as good as dextrose and protein? I am asking because I'm trying to cut down on carbs a bit for a little body fat loss......Mike

A banana is high GI than an apple.

Fructose will replenish liver glycogen, not muscle glycogen.

You could cut your carbs at a different meal ????

Post workout we need high GI carbs for optimal glycogen replenishment. Some good ones...
-dextrose
-maltodextrin
-white potato
-rice cakes
-white rice
-angel food cake
-corn flakes
-white bread

its good to see that rice cakes still serve a purpose. thats about the only time i ever ate them was post training..:D

Keep the fat low, and fruits have fructose not dextrose, which is a better sugar for post workout recovery. Good luck

Definitely don't cut down the carbs in your post workouts, normal meal times is the time to do that

An afterthought, rehydration is THE most crucial conern post workout, carbs rate second, dehydration will negate a lot of the good work you've done:)
