Does a powerlifting routine help you get stronger and gain muscle or.........???????Because i've seen a lot of powerlifters that weight like 150 lbs, lifting unbelievable amounts of weight on all the main lifts.Do any of you have a powerlifting routine handy or know about any good books on powerlifting?????Thanks in advance! :hmmm:

You can gain lots of muscle on a powerlifting routine if you eat enough calories to allow for hypertrophy to occur. Some of the top powerlifters in the game have more LBM than many of the top bodybuilders.

You should give Westside, which is essentially the premier PL routine out there right now, a try. Check out the following:

http://www.elitefts.com/
http://www.t-nation.com/ (Look for Dave Tate's articles)
http://www.westside-barbell.com/

If you want to give linear periodization a try, then the only site I can think of is...

http://www.joeskopec.com/

I'm sure Google will yield you more information should you decide to go the linear periodization route.

Although my knowledge of this area is somewhat limited,It is to my understanding that powerlifting routines are based mostly on lower rep work(1-6reps) in order to train the central nervous system to handle heavy loads. One can gain lots of muscle on a powerlifting routine as long as you supply the body with adequate nutrition, the 150lb lifters you refer to are probably trying to stay within a certain weight class so they limit their food intake accordingly.

In terms of routines there are a multitude of powerlifting routines on the web, depending on your needs.Westside seems to be a fairly popular powerlifting method,if you do a search on this site for ''powerlifting'' or ''westside'' im sure you will find lots more info.

Sorry I cant be of more assistance

Looks like cowpimp beat me to the post :)
