I eat a large breakfast, including a protien shake, around 7 AM and train around 9AM. What would be a good pre-workout meal? For carbs, I was thinking oats. Any suggestions? This meal seems unneccessary.

2 hours before training oats are perfect, if you want something closer to training then you would want a higher glycemic carb. I don't think you need another meal in between your breakfast and training, if that is what you are asking.

A protein shake and some oats is perfect preworkout- light and provides the energy you need.

Thanks everyone!

O.K. so here's breakfast:

=======
Shake:
1 scoop of whey protien powder
1 cup of fat-free milk
1/2 cup of fat-free yogurt
1 cup of oats
5 oz. of strawberries

Breakfast Sandwich:
1 egg
2 slices of wheat toast
5 pieces of turkey bacon
Seasoning
=======

Protien: 50g
Carbs: 88g

So waddaya think?
Is this a good Protien/Carb ratio?

You may want to reconsider the milk and yogurt. Milk has 12G sugar per cup. I'm not sure what the yogurt has but I'm sure its not much better :shrug:

Or half n half or light cream are all fine. Just watch the fat and keep it within caloric and macro restriction.
