I had a few questions about the timing of my preworkout meal. I think I was following misguided wrong advice on another site about it being okay to consume my preworkout meal which consists of (apple, oats, whey shake with a little skim milk in it) 15-30 minutes before a workout. After reading more and more I have come under the impression this is no good. What would be a good time to consume this meal. What is the range basically, i.e. anywhere from 2 hours to 1 hour before.

Also is drinking a protein shake also not advisable within 30 minutes before a workout?

Also is a sports energy jelly consisting of maltodex also a no-no in the 30 minutes before?

Thanks for any advice....

I always make sure that my last meal before I train is at least 1 hour.

I don't think (could be wrong) it is a good idea to have a protein shake before a workout since you'll be digesting this protein when you should be sparing your blood for your muscles.

Is having the preworkout meal 2 hours before working out still okay?

Do you take BCAA's before, during, and after training?

I drink a BCAA drink(has 1500mg of BCAA's in it) during training.

Also is a sports jelly(meant for energy) also going to interupt blood flow?

Okay, as long as you are sipping BCAA's during training, then that meal 2 hours prior to training is not too soon beforehand. I don't know the ingredient profile to the sports jelly, but I don't believe it would make a detrimental difference.
