Around 8 days ago when I did a quad injection, it felt like I hit a nerve with my first attempt. I had a sharp pain and instantly pulled out the needle and blood started coming out rather quickly, but stopped after like 5 seconds.

I then moved over about 2 inches and did my daily injection of 2.5cc of oil.

That same day I went to the gym and did back and biceps, which included full range deadlifts.

The next day I woke up and I could barely walk. My left quad had a bruise that was barely visible but it was in SO MUCH PAIN that I had to take a week off from the gym while on cycle. As of today, the pain was 100% gone finally and unfortunately for my quad, it was it's turn for an injection.

So I poked a spot around 3 inches away from the last injection spot on my quad and aspirated and noticed a strange color in the syringe. I thought it was blood at first, so I pulled out the needle and it was a milky orange color.

I don't feel any pain, there is no swelling. I ended up moving over towards the middle of the quad about 2 inches and did the injection there instead, and had no puss when I aspirated and no pain.

Should I be worried about this? I thought the issue was because I hit a nerve or a blood vessel, but now I think it was a minor infection?

sounds down-right nasty. I wouldnt fk around, get to a doctor :coffee:

Damn bro, your a dedicated soldier!!!! I would've said F it and hit somewhere else. But then again, I tend to be a pussy when it comes to pain!!!

Bad situation. See a doctor.

Yeah I agree with everyone here. Get it drained and the doc will probably prescribe Keflex or similar for the infection. I dealt with this 2 years ago.

The only reason I am not concerned is that at first it did hurt like a BITCH !!
But after about 8 days, the swelling went down and the pain is gone.
So maybe my body fought off the infection ? I have been reading about the possibility of sterile abscesses.

Sounds like an abcess.... rather be safe then sorry bud... these are the types of things you really should visit the doc for.

Very possible that you have a sterile abcess but it's your call on going to the doc...

The real question is how did this happen? Dirty gear? Bad injection practices?

I have been using the same gear all along. I am always VERY careful when pinning. I pretty much drench myself in 99.9% alcohol and always use a clean tip. If I even look at the tip wrong, I change it out for a fresh one. Seemed like a routine pin, just my first attempt resulted in a nice spurt of blood and felt like I hit a nerve or a vessel.

My doctor told me to keep an eye on it. He said that it's good that the swelling is gone, the pain is gone and he said it's probably a sterile abscess. He said if the pain comes back or it starts getting worse in any way to come back. He also told me I'm an idiot for using AAS haha !!!

if it were me, and this has happened to me, I would take some Keflex just for insurance. just ask your doc for a script.

i got the same response from my dr when i went to him with infection:roflmao: hey i got a supply of antibotics tho

I agree. An abscess hurts from swelling but once the puss find a place to drain the pain will sometimes go away but that doesn't mean the infection is gone.
