Question about being sore the day after a workout

I skimmed through an article recently and cant find it but it was about being sore after your workout..

my friend said I wasn't training enough unless I wake up the next morning with my muscles aching, I disagreed with barely any information to back me up

so anyone willing to clarify this issue, it would be greatly appreciated

being sore is not an indicator of a productive workout. do a search, we have tons of threads about all the theories and such on soreness.

Use progression as the gauge for a successful workout, not soreness.

but thanks again man, I was pretty sure that the whole soreness thing really didnt have anything to do with a productive workout so yeah thanks again
