I am eating a 50/30/20 p/c/f at 2000 cals a day
i am pretty lean at 149 5% bf. would i still need to refeed. I didnt think i would but i find myself craving carbs and lack of energy.

why not just switch up to a higher percentage of carbs in your caloric intake for a week or two, say 40/40/20 to see how that helps with your energy levels and such?

Yes I would refeed. Probably start with every 4 days and take it from there. Please read the Refeed and Leptin sticky at the top of this forum.

Low energy levels is the first sign that you need a refeed. Also, how are you holding up at 5%? I couldn't stand being at 4% for more than 4 days, personally, I commend you for maintaining such a low percentage. Now I'm at 11.5%, but I'm bulking...

Peace.

i can be a miserable bastard at times and get extreamly lazy.
i think that that is why i am constantly fighting cravings. i can be pretty anal with my diet. the problem is that i last about 5 days until my body really fights back ( cravings, no sleep, no sex drive ect.) so i am hoping that incorperating a refeed will bring back hormone levels and stop the binging. last night was bad i woke up like every hour craving sweets so i figure today should be a good day to refeed

i have been increasing my cals due to not knowing what i was doing ( like under 1400 for like 8 months so over the past 1.5 months i have been increasing my cals. I am up to 2000 and maintaining so i really wasnt even sure if i should do a refeed because i am not in a large cal defacit? (i suck at spelling since it is 4 am and i cant sleep) what would be a good cal value to shoot for 15xlbm i plan on refeeding during meals 1,2,3,4 and back to lean protien and veggies for 5,6

I feel you on the no sex drive at sub-8% BF...the exact same thing happened to me, and I was REALLY unmotivated to move, ie I would always take the elevator instead of the stairs, I just wanted to sit around all day, etc. Needless ot say the gym became a true chore and my energy levels were shot. Yes, you do need a refeed, and often, every three days if you are sub 8% and still want to cut. I don't see why you want to do anything at 5%, though, I think 8-10% is much healthier for you, you have to reset your metabolism, your thyroid might be screwed.

Peace.

i hear you on the stairs lol i am an elevator mech and and my legs feel like jello. The only way seem to be able to work out is at like 5 am any other time and i have no energy. also if i attempt to work out later in the day it feels like my bp goes through the roof kinda of wierd
do you think the thyroid could cause the lack of sleep and night sweats that i have been having? my met must be pretty screwed up esp since i was like 180 w 36 inch waist last year

I would Refeed every 4th day. You have reached the point where your body wants to fatten you up. Yea and sex drive sucks, cravings kick you ass and sleep is so fucking hard to get. I am at 6% and its fucking nuts when i diet.
